"Lightning Fang!!"

A guy was seen at the training grounds, holding a sword.

"Grow!! Extase!!"

Twas Kirigan of course. Ever since he returned to Palaestra, he had spent most of his time at the training grounds and for some reasons, he has refused insrtuctors.

"Are you sure you don't want an instructor? Maybe a saint could help" Bram said as he walked into the training grounds.

"I keep telling you I don't need an instructor. I can handle myself for crying out loud" Kirigan said, not minding Bram

"But if you need to get stronger, you need an instructor and a saint would be perfect"

"I will never forget how useless I felt back there at the orphanage. The flower demon tossed me about like trash. Even the valkyrie armor was utterly useless. Imagine my ass was saved by the same children I was meant to protect" Kirigan said, showing how frustrated he was.

"Listen I understand your pain but this isn't time to be dilly dailying. You need to get stronger and not just you, the whole Palaestra needs to be empowered.

"Perhaps, a little sparring won't be bad" Kirigan said as he pointed Extase at Bram.

"I wouldn't underestimate my opponent if I were you"

"Who said I'm underestimating you?"

"Who knows, but all I know is that I'm not the crybaby you used to know back then" Bram said as he readied himself for combat.

"When was the last time we fought?"

"I clearly remember it as day, it was 2 years ago, when I touched the source!!"

Bram advanced forward as he tried to land a punch on Kirigan but Kirigan was quick to dodge it.

"You still think this petty attack of yours works??"

"Look at the mirror you dumbass"

Kirigan touched his cheek. He could feel a sharp pain. Only then did he realize he had just been injured by Bram.

"I see, nice work" Kirigan commented.

"The difference last time was that the punch last time was just an ordinary punch. This one is coated with raw malkri.

"Thanks for the lesson" Kirigan said as he coated extase with lightning.

"I guess I'm going to push myself a little" Bram said as he covered his fists with wind.

The two collide and they were blown in opposite direction.

"Wow, you've improved. What was that move?"

"I call it the WIND FIST" Bram said as he started throwing wind punches at Kirigan.

Kirigan uses lightning s***h to cut the wind punches. He then planted the extase on the ground, releasing lightning to electrocute Bram but Bram flew upwards.

"Don't think I'll fall for the same trick twice" Bram said as he released a massive tornado and sends it to Kirigan.

"Interesting" Kirigan muttered to himself as he divided the tornado with lightning

LIGHTNING SLASH

Kirigan sends multiple lightning s***h to Bram which was in the air but Bram was like a leaf in the wind. The way he dodged those slashes were incredible.

"Wow, he's good" Kirigan muttered to himself .

FLASH STEP

Kirigan moved as the speed of lightning such that Bram's eye couldn't catch up with his movements.

"Wow, so fast. In that case---"

Bram covered himself with wind to protect himself from Kirigan's next attack.

"Not bad, but would that be enough to stop me?"

"Who knows?"

As the duo were about to collide, a plant pillar arose, stopping them.

"Seroiusly, why are boys so stupid. Imagine, wasting your energy like this, what if we receive another attack?" A female voice was heard.

"Took you long enough to welcome me back eh" Kirigan said.

"Oh shut up, I was out on a mission you fool" the voice answered.

"Nice to have you back, Jinora" Bram said.

A woman of inexplicable beauty was seen walking up to the guys.

"Beautiful and dazzling as usual" Bram added.

"Oh, don't flatter me, you and I know I'm not your type. I hate it when you try" Jinora said.

"As cold as always, not minding how the recipient feels" Kirigan said.

"You didn't tell me you'd be coming" Jinora said as he walked up to Kirigan.

"Well, you were out on those sleazy missions of yours"

"A call wouldn't hurt Kirigan"

"So how was the mission"

"Piece of cake as usual, although this was a big piece. The demon we encountered wasn't the main boss but a clone" Jinora said.

"That's rough, I can feel your pain" Bram said as he patted her on the back.

"I've been hearing rumors that the crystal glory has awakened"

"In fact she's in Palaestra receiving training although her identity was kept secret from students to avoid discrimination" Bram said

"So you don't know?"

"Of course I know who she is, I've even met her and guess what, Kirigan here was the one who brought her"

"Hmmm, I see. How's her character like?" Jinora asked.

"Well, she's a child with the body and mind of a teenager. I was surprised to find out she was barely 9"

"Whatt!! She's just 9??"

"Yep, and she's not alone. She came with three other kids from their orphanage. Truth be told, their story is touching to the core" Bram said as he wiped hie eyes to indicate pain in the heart.

"Bram, would you stop that already, its becoming gross" Kirigan said, showing sign of disgust.

"Oh please, the best part is that those children have a common goal and they're unwavering" Bram added.

"The way you speak of these kids sounds interesting, I'd like to meet them someday" Jinora said witha a smile on her face.

"There, that's what I wanted to see, that extraordinary smile of yours" Bram said as he winked his left eye.

"Bram, you're creepy" Kirigan said before walking out.

"If you continue with this daft attitude of yours, you're gonna lose your friend" Jinora said before walking out.

That's not going to happen" Bram smiled before leaving

"How are the newbies holding up?" Lady Lyka asked.

"Well, they're doing fine. Their motivation is still fresh and just like you ordered, the crystal glory's identity hasn't been revealed yet" Varice replied.

"Thanks for your hardwork"

"I do it in Valda's might" Varice took a bow before leaving.

"So what next, Lady Lyka?" Davion asked as he stepped into the hall.

"Well, in 3 years time, we'll conduct the Saints' Examination. We need people who we can train to be able to rival us saints" Lady Lyka said.

"You have a point there bit I just hope we're able to maintain peace for as long as we can. The recent attack on Palaestra although was averted but it's an eye opener telling is we should be expecting more of them"

"You're right Davion and it's high time we act like the heroes that we are"
