"Wake up you brats!!!" A shout heard in the boy's dorm.

"Why are the two of you always late in waking up??" Mr. Pitts' voice filled the air. Of course he was referring to Alen and Seren.

"We've been training all day so we get pretty exhausted" Alen said, rubbing his eyes.

"Are you the only guys in the whole of Palaestra that works hard?, loosen up for heaven's sake"

"Oh its them again, the newbies who always get up late" a student next door said as he slammed his door to leave the dorm.

They were known for getting late throughout the whole dorm.

"Who else could it be if not them, always giving me a headache" Mr. Pitts said.

"Well then ,I'll be off"

"Take care Kruger" Mr. Pitts bade him goodbye. Kruger belonged to the healers of the intermediary section. So far he is the only senior that had spoken to the two of them since their arrival. He got closer to them when Ketil was still around. Let's just say he and Ketil are of like minds.

"Why can't you guys just imitate Kruger, I mean you guys are friends with him. I just hope you don't spoil his good nature" Mr. Pitts said in order to pass them off.

"So we're the bad guys now??" Alen said as if he was falling for the bait.

"Whatever you say. By the way, have you both heard from Ketil?" Mr. Pitts asked.

"Well, he wrote us a letter last week. He told us he was doing fine and that he is joining the air force to fight wyverns" Alen relayed the information.

"That means, he's going to be using the newly invented 3D gears, that's exciting!!" Mr. Pitts said as if he was about to jump for joy.

"Why are you so excited as fyou just won a nice bet? I mean it's Ketil who was nominated, not you" Seren said, trying to piss Mr. Pitts.

"Now you're trying to piss me off isn't it, but I won't fall for it"

"Suit yourself"

"Now hurry up and get ready for your lectures before you waste more time here!!" Mr. Pitts screamed and they both dashed into the bathroom.

"Unbelievable"

Lady Lyka sat on her throne in the meeting hall of saints. Her fan designed with the patterns of the Phoenix radiated such beauty. She sat majestically as if the throne was wholly made for her alone.

"Why did you call us, Lyka?" Lord Harbinger said as he barged in.

"Well we just have to wait till th others are here" She responded as she opened her fan in a majestic manner.

In the next few minutes, the 12 saints had assembled.

"Allow me to formally introduce our amiable saints" Varrice said as he took a bow.

Lady Lyka

Lord Harbinger,

Lord Jeane D'Arc

Lady Alanna

Lord Varice.

"Hey when pronouncing the name, don't pronounce it with familiarity. The difference between our names is that yours has an extra 'r' signifying rat." Lord Varice lashed out at Varrice.

"Not now, Varice" Lady Lyka cut him.

"Please continue"

Lady Revy

Lady Sienna

Lord Shirakumo

Lord Shoka

Lord Daemon

Lord Davion and finally,

Lady Esdeath.

Varrice took a bow before taking his place beside Lady Lyka.

"So what brings us here?" Lord Jeane asked

"I wish to shift the Saints Examination closer" Lady Lyka proposed.

"Whaat!! You're trying to break the Palaestrian rule that has been existing!!" Alanna raised her voice.

"We don't have much time, we need to conduct the tournament as soon as possible. The dark army are gaining on us and we need to train the next generation as soon as possible" Lyka air her opinion.

"The last Saints Examination was held last year and that ushered me to becoming a saint, we can't conduct another this year" Davion said.

"It would be held a year from now"

"Lyka, are you sure you are not rushing things? You sound desperate" Lady Sienna said.

"Yes, I am desperate. We need to empower the tarverens brought under our care as we are the elder tarverens. I can't let Asphod win"

"So what do we do?"

"I'm calling for a vote to know if my plan will push through" Lyka said. She looked at Varrice to signal him to begin the vote.

"In the presence of the 12 rulers of Palaestra, ibwish to cast a vote. To those who are in favor of Lady Lyka's suggestion come forward"

"Well, I'm in full support, i mean it wouldnt be bad to have a tsuguko," Lord Jeane said as he walked forth.

"Um did I get the pronounciation right, Shirakumo?" Jeane asked.

"I'll let you off this time. Besides, watching them fight gives me so much fun" Shirakumo walked front.

"Well, I just hope this is a good decision" Alanna joined

"I trust your decisions would lead us somewhere, I'm trying to figure that out so I'm in" Sienna joined.

"Well, I've always been in full support right from the time she told me" Davion joined.

Lady Esdeath, Lord Shoka and Lady Revy also joined, making it a 9 to 3.

"I hereby propound Lady Lyka's idea as official" Varrice said before taking a bow.

"Wow, you rally know how to use your position as a ruler of Palaestra" Davion commented.

"Thanks for your support. This meeting is dismissed"

With that, the 12 saints agreed that the Saint's Examination would be conducted next year.

"Ice chains"

Chains made of ice were created and sent to Seren but Seren was quick to use a fire power to melt those chains. He and Mirana were training.

"I see you brats are training seriously" A voice was heard from behind. Twas Cassios and his crew.

"What do you want?" Seren asked with a stern look on his face.

"Are you seriously asking us that? How audacious"

"Yo, Keel, let's show them what we're made of!" Cassios gave the order and the crew members advanced to attack.

" Ice Lotus Cove"

Mirana creates a lotus made of ice that creates ice needles and she sends the needles toward Cassios and his crew.

"Earth Wall"

One of Cassios lackey created a wall to shield them from the oncoming ice needles.

"You think that can have effect on us, what crap" Cassios said as he advanced forward with his fist covered in flames to punch Seren but Mirana was quick to create an ice shield.

"You really are passing me off!!" Seren screamed as he blasted Cassios with his flames. At that instant, Seren's flames became blue

"Whaaat!!, this guy's got blue flames??" Everyone watching the fight was stunned. Blue flames was one of the strongest flame types.

"You didn't tell me you have the blue flames"

Mirana said.

"I just found out"

"Hey Cassios, this guy has the blue flame and that'll spell trouble for us. We'll be doomed of we have to contend with this guy, let's retreat" Cassios right hand man advised.

"I'll let you off the hook this time but there won't be a next time, you'll cause the day you crossed paths with me" Cassios threatened.

"On the contrary, you'll regret the day you decided to mess with me" Seren said with all confidence.

"Let's go"

And with that, Cassios and his team left.

"I'm guessing they were scared" Mirana whispered.

"They'd better be"

"Heyy, Minato sensei is calling us, he says it's urgent!!" Alen came running, delivering the message.

"Let's go"

"Sure"
