Chapter 4: The Meeting.

Donaldson's P.O.V.: We ran as fast as our four legs could take us, which to be honest is pretty damn fast compared to how fast we can run on only two legs. As we got closer and closer to the edge of our territory, I could hear a fight between two wolves off to the left of our current direction, but instead of going left towards the sound of the fight, my wolf urged me to go right instead. I didn’t understand why usually me and my wolf are both always up for a good fight, but something was taking all the wolf’s focus away from the fight, and it was more like I was just along for the ride. My wolf was in complete control right now. Soon I started to smell a strange and unfamiliar scent in the air that made my wolf start to go even faster, then I heard a strange sound and my wolf started to slow down to a walk as we got closer to what appeared to be a clearing in the woods. The sound got louder. It was the sound of someone crying. I didn’t want to scare them, so I shifted into my human form and slipped on the pair of shorts that I had tied to my leg and slowly approached the person. Soon I realized it was a lady and, from what I could tell, from here she was really banged up badly. As I got closer, she suddenly went still as she reached down beside her using her left hand to grab something. To try and not scare her more, I cleared my throat and said “excuse me miss but are you ok. I didn’t mean to scare you; I live about 10 miles from here. If you’d like my men and I can help you onto your horse, then we can take you to our camp where our healers can see to your wounds”. When she turned to face me with what I noticed was a handmade spear in her hand, I got my first real good look at her and could see that indeed she was hurt really badly from what I could see. Her wrist was more than likely broken, and she was also suffering from a badly twisted ankle. Without help from a healer, her wrist might heal wrong, making it almost impossible for her to ever be able to ride again, and if she caught a fever while out here exposed to the heat, she would eventually die from the heat if a predator didn’t get to her first while she was weak. Despite how banged up she was, I couldn’t help but notice just how good-looking she was, from the way her hair was softly framing her face down to how she had curves in all the right places, and even though she was a little shorter than me, I just knew that we’d fit together perfectly. (“No stop thinking that way we’re here to help her not to ravish her like some s*x-crazed teenager!”) I chastised myself in my head. Even though I could tell my wolf was probably on the same track of mind as my wayward thoughts, but I pushed those thoughts away to think about later, even though she’s standing there staring at me with a look that would send all the pups back in camp running home with their tails between their legs hell even some of the grown men to, the slight breeze behind her suddenly changes direction and carries from her the smell of arousal to me telling me she’s not as unaffected by me as she looks this pleases my wolf a great deal and I pick up one word from my wolf that I never thought would cross his mind, “Mine”. Sunshine's P.O.V.: I stared back at this strange man who had suddenly appeared and was now offering to come to my aide as if I were some stupid damsel in distress needing a big strong man to come and rescue her, yea right, I didn't need any help, not even from some guy who looks like a god or angel this guy who is just too damn, good-looking for my own good that I have to be hallucinating him. (“I’ll close my eyes and when I open them, he’ll be gone”) I say to myself in my head as I close my eyes but when I open them, he’s still there and not only is he still there, but he’s staring at me with such heat in his eyes like I’m a mouthwatering piece of meat that he wants to sink his teeth into. I try to force the steel look into my eyes that I would direct at my nephews when they’re caught doing something they shouldn’t be doing. It usually sends them running to their rooms without me even needing to say anything. All the while, I’m trying and failing not to devour him with my eyes like he is doing to me, but staring into those very blue eyes filled with heat, then down his body over his perfectly chiseled abs and muscles that say he works hard, sends a pool of heat straight between my legs like I’ve never felt before. I wonder if he can smell the way he’s affecting my body or if what looked like a flaring of the nostrils when the wind changed direction wasn’t just my imagination. Strangely enough, I didn’t feel afraid of this man. In fact, that pulling sensation that brought me to this clearing was now pulling me in his direction, urging me to go with him, telling me that I would be safe with this man. Well, at least I should say that he wasn’t a danger to my life, but a danger to my virtue. He was definitely a danger to that. Oddly enough, though that didn’t scare me one little bit, though, so hesitantly I finally spoke up and said to him, “Thank you sir, I’d really appreciate the help. My name is Sunshine. What might I ask is your name, kind sir?” Donaldson's P.O.V.: “My name is Donaldson, let me look at your ankle and wrist please” I said, as I started walking towards her. Once I’m right in front of her, the scent of her slams into my gut and shoots heat coursing down into my c**k, making me stumble a little bit. Then I force myself to block out her smell so that I can focus on the task in front of me. She untied one piece of cloth from her that was immobilizing her wrist, she then took her wrist from the poorly done sling and started unwrapping her wrist. I could tell that her wrist was badly swollen already and definitely broken. By now, all of my scouts that were patrolling this part of the territory and all the warriors from camp had finally joined us, all thankfully in human shape and dressed. The warriors had even brought our horses that we kept around to keep our secret from being exposed by the occasional traveler when we are on the move across the countryside, (“as much as we would like to travel from one area to another in our wolf forms, it’s too dangerous and also, seen as a threat to other clans who territories we might have to pass through in order to get to our next location.”) to the clearing so that we wouldn’t have to walk all the way back to our camp and risk blowing our secret. So, I called out to Dunkin and told him to bring me some clean clothes as I led her over to a flat stone and told her to put her wrist in the cold water to help with the swelling while we waited for him to bring me the clothes. He handed me the strips of cloth, then I told him to head back to camp and let my mother, who is the head healer, know that we'd have a guest joining us from outside our borders who needs help so she can be sure to have everything in order. Then I walked back over to her and used a cloth to dry her wrist as gently as I could, then I wrapped a piece of cloth around her wrist as tight as I could without causing her too much pain. Then I fixed her sling to where it would work better than once her wrist was in the sling comfortably. I secured it to her body, so it wouldn’t be jostled while on horseback. Lastly, I used the last piece of cloth and some bark from a tree to brace her ankle until it got better. I helped her walk over to where she had set up camp and started to help her fold up her bedding and pack it away. Then I helped her up onto her horse and tied the mule to my saddle as well as her horse, and then I mounted my horse, Thunder, followed by the rest of the pack who would be heading back to camp with us. Then we rode slowly and steadily through the trees next to each other to make sure she didn’t tumble of the horse and get trampled by the other horses. We made it back to camp just as it started getting dark enough for the torches and lanterns to be lit. I guided her horse over to the lean-to that was just outside the healing hut, then I dismounted and tied the horse and the mule to it and helped her to get down, then guided her inside, helping to take some weight off her ankle. I led her to a bed and helped her down onto it, then went to get my mother. “Mom, she’s over here” I said as I took my mother over to where Sunshine is, “Sunshine, this is my mother Normanina. She’s absolutely the best healer you could hope for” I say then leave her in the very capable hands of my mother while I get on my horse and lead the other two over to my hut where I unload all of her things and place them in the extra sleeping quarters that used to be my sisters before she moved out into her own place back home in Silver Creek Valley. Once all her saddlebags were placed in the room, I led the horses and mule to the stables that were just a little way from my hut and started cooling first her horse, then mine, then the mule. Then I put them each into their own stall and made sure all the horses had food and water, then I started walking back towards the healing hut.
