CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
Either it was the undeniable truth or perhaps I was reading too much in to it, but it felt like Chanel wasn’t assured yet of my loyalty. Ever since we got back home, she’d been more involved in my life to the extent of showing up unannounced at my office just to say she was nearby and thought of dropping by to see me. Like today, she just left my office a few seconds ago. It sort of made me feel hurt that she didn’t trust me like she used to before. But I’d asked for this and well, Karma really doesn’t waste time with pleasantries.
