The Urge

1046 Words
I was losing my control. She came in like a storm destroying everything on her way to my heart. And I watched it all happening feeling completely helpless in front of her. I own a reputation of being rough and tough but this girl was ruining it. I can’t forget the night I saw her for the first time. I wasn’t prepared for that encounter. She came unannounced and without taking my permission took control of my senses. I got swept by her scent when I was dwelling in the woods aimlessly. I don’t know when and how, her scent wafted through my nostril and I found myself tracing her scent. And when I found her, she was cornered by my territory guards. She had her eyes squeezed shut out of fear. I jumped to her rescue at once. I roared at my guards who were about to pounce on her. They scurried away not before letting out a bleat. I turned towards her. Her divine presence made me forget that I was completely naked. I checked her out from tip to toes. She was so meant for me. I waited for her to open her beautiful eyes.  My feet began to walk on their own when she opened her magnetizing eyes. Her hazel orbs were taking me under its charm. Her body was drenched with sweat. Her musical breath was tugging at the strings of my heart. I stood before her, hit hard by her beauty. My eyes were still stuck in hers. I felt the strong urge to touch her and so I lifted my hand but before I could feel her touch, someone yelled her name. “Jane,” the intruder screamed. I realized she was lost and the human finding her was quite close. I cursed under my breath and turned on my heels. My eyes could not help but take in her beauty once again before leaving. I shifted into my wolf form and ran at the speed of lightning.    I did not go back to my mansion that night. I had found my home that day. A couple of hours had passed by but her scent had still captivated my mind and heart. The beast inside me refused to cool down. He was ripping out of me growling, howling, and wanting. I had to control my urges. My legs just like my heart were betraying me. They wanted to turn back and sprint back to her. Everything in me was calling for everything in her. I had to distract myself and so I decided to climb the moon lake hill. The hill was beside the lake and looked over the woods. It stood tall and invincible. I started ascending it as I needed my strength to wear off. I planted my paw on its rough surface and began to move up step by step.  I didn’t realize when I reached the top of the hill. Although my beast had calmed a bit, he still pined for her. I closed my eyes and let out a howl dripping with the yearning I held for her. And then I laid on the ground on my stomach and closed my eyes. Her angelic face flashed through and a current coursed through my body. I squeezed my eyes shut hoping to get her out of my head. It was late. She came late. We were not supposed to meet. I was not supposed to feel like the way I was feeling for her. Her sudden appearance had complicated things for me. I felt torn between my heart and my brain. If only I had met her a year ago, I would have held her tightly around my arms and never let go. If only I knew she existed. But the ship had sailed. There was no way I could have as my mate. Even though she was my mate, I was not supposed to love her, EVER.  I decided not to chase or look for her. She was made for me but not meant for me. I had lost the right to love her a year ago when I made a promise. A promise that came back haunting me. The words that I had said a year ago snaked around my heart and constricted it in the most brutal way. My heart screamed to break free but my brain knew that is not possible. I was bound by my words. The next day, I drowned myself in work so that her thoughts wouldn't cross my mind. But every time I close my eyes to relax, her face flashed before my eyes. My Beta, Daniel, who is also my good friend, had noted my restlessness.  He tried to ask me a matter of concern but I ignored his question. I didn’t want to talk about her to anyone. I didn’t want to share my memories of her with anyone. I had experienced vulnerability once when I saw her, I didn’t want to feel it again. I knew talking about her would only make me crave her more.  Daniel took me by surprise when he barged into my office and informed me that the territory guard had caught a trespasser. The news made me arch my brow in anger. Who had dared to challenge me by trespassing into my territory? I was familiar with my dominating aura. Over the years, I had become the most dreaded and cold-hearted Alpha. My ever-growing hunger for power had turned me into an unconquerable beast. I slayed, butchered, and slit through my journey to become the strongest Alpha. I enjoyed people fearing me. Their fear of me used to remind me of my power. No one had ever dared to look me into his eyes, much less disobeying me. The news came as a shock for him. “Which pack is the trespasser from? I questioned in anger.  “It is not clear right now. But the culprit has been kept prisoner” he spoke in a serious tone. “Okay, Bring him to my office tomorrow,” I dismissed Daniel. That night, I slept wondering about her whereabouts. I had no idea I was going to meet her again as my prisoner. Hey, please like if you like the story and follow for more. Drop your comments too, I would love to hear from you.
