Mr. Brown

    Henry rushed to my side after Jared left. "Are you okay?" I nodded and turned to show him that I was not interested in having visitors. "Well, I will take that as you want me to be quiet in the corner or the carriage. Just in case creepers comes back so I can defend you and you can get some sleep." I shrugged and he just sat there quiet the whole time. This whole thing happened 5 years ago. I am 19 almost 20 years old. I have grown into the best negotiator in the group so when we needed something they sent in the best for the job and we end up with more than what we needed. I am very proud and the only reason I am good at this is because I have been training with talking to Jared and I win every negotiation that happens between us and the best thing that has happened from that is he only can come within a few feet before Henry will magically show up in front of me and that was the unspoken rule. That was the best rule I was technically never allowed to be alone in unknown areas so Jake made Henry accompany me wherever I go in order to protect me from fainting again. "Hey, Darci could you go into the town right down the road and get us some coffee for hat you have on you ?" Jenny yelled at me and I may be a little impatient so I walked up to her and then looked right into her eyes "I don't have any money on me. Do you want me to try and trade something for it like an hour of work or something?" she nodded at me then I walked away down the path to a tavern that was sitting on the side of the road I walked into the place and the first thing that always happens is all the men think that I all of a sudden can't see that their eyes are on me and they also go blind and at the same time to my feelings about me feeling uncomfortable with their eyes on me once I stepped into the tavern. I see a little girl maybe my age or a little older working the counter and I was a little concerned for her until I walked up to her and she practically read my mind. "No, I am fine, those guys are all bark and no bite. Anyway what can I do for you?" I looked to the door that was placed in the back of the tavern after a noise came from it, it sounded like someone threw something. My attention came back to the girl that was working the counter and I answered her "I came to talk to someone about me getting some coffee beans in exchange for some manual labor or something. Who do I need to talk to about this?" she looked toward the door and then she proceeded to point to the door and then she opened her mouth. "The boss is in his office if you would like I can go ask him if he is willing to talk to you." I nodded and then she walked to the door and disappeared behind and then those men started to talk behind me. "I think that you should go and talk to her." on said then another answered "No, I think that you should talk to her." I turned around "I think we should all talk if you would like to at least be my friend. . .now that I think about it do either of you handsome men know that young ones name?" they stared at me for a short second and before I was going to give up and turn back around one of them spoke up "Her name is Nina, I am Arron, and this here to my right is Eric. What brings you here, you're not from around here are you?" I shoo my head then got up and walked over to the table. They were two older gentlemen sitting there, the one called Arron had black hair and emerald eyes and you could see all the smile wrinkles that were around his eyes. Eric had some dark brown hair with some sprinkles of gray, and a shadow of a beard on his face, he also had some smile lines but not as much as Arron. "I am here just to get some coffee beans before me and my family hits the road again. I think that this will be the place because the last two places said no and I believe that the third time's the charm and I have some very persuasive, tactics if not, I will get this guy to agree with me even if he said no in the first place. He wont know what happened and before he realizes what happened I will already be on my way back to my camp." both of the men start to laugh I don't understand why until the girl, Nina, returned with a little bit of frightened look on her face and she motioned for me to go into the office. I got up from the table I was sitting at with Arron and Eric and walked toward the room with a little dread starting to fill my stomach. I reached the door and knocked on the door and yes even though I was raised with no doors I do in fact know how to be polite. I hear "come in" on the other side of the door and I gently open the door, I poke my head in and I was not prepared for what I was about to see. I saw the most beautiful man I have ever seen. He had these piercing yet dark blue eyes and it looked like they were empty , but at the same time trying to fill up with some kind of emotion and he just didn't know how to do that. He had this fiery red hair and muscles that were being hugged by his shirt that was light blue and his black pants were showing off his perfect ass. I don't know what came over me but all of a sudden got nervous once I was inside of the office he looked over his shoulder and then paused and sat behind his desk and motioned for me to sit down in a chair across the way from him I slowly walked into the room and once I saw a  little bit of annoyance on his face I walked around the desk and sat on the edge of it facing him. I don't know what came over me, but I really wanted to challenge him and try to break him for some reason. After I sat there I motioned for him to do something and he just asked  a question. "What is it that you need young miss?" I stared him down once he broke eye contact "I know you know why I am here, why not just get straight to the point if you don't mind." he then started to stare at me again and this time neither of us broke eye contact. "I don't know haw you were raised but you don't just waltz into someone's establishment and demand to talk to the owner for something so stupid." I then close my eyes because I am laughing so hard I got up and walked over to the seat that was offered to me before  while still laughing. He looked at me curiously "What's so funny?" I stopped laughing long enough to answer him, "I just think that someone that accepts a meeting with a stranger over some coffee beans is a little more weird than me walking in after knocking on the door and also waiting for you to motion for me to sit down before I even start moving from the doorway. I think that aren't really one to talk about manner or anything of the sort." I stop laughing together and get serious. "Okay, now about those coffee beans, what do you want for them. Unfortunately I don't have any money,  can help out her for a little bit. If that is okay with you?" I then heard him clear his throat. I looked at him waiting for him to mover or to just tell me what we are going to agree on. I stared into his eyes and he starred in return once I had enough of just sitting there staring at each other I spoke "I am here all week and I know that I can help out in this business if given the chance to change a few things." he stared me down some more before he opened his mouth. "I think that I need an assistant for a week, what do you think Miss. . . .""The name is Darci, please don't ask for my last name I don't know it." I looked down  and away from him. "It's a pleasure to be working with you Mr. oh no I never caught you name May I have the name that goes with my gracious boss. That will allow me to start tomorrow morning bright eyed and bushy tailed" he giggled at the remark. "I think that is a wonderful idea and the name's Marcus Brown you may call me Mr. Brown or sir." I nodded and then left. I looked back at him and gave a slight nod of my head. "I will see you tomorrow early and ready to work weather it be manual work or paperwork I will be ready for just about anything." He gave my a slight nod and I left with a smile on my face.
