CHRISTIAN She had locked herself in, shutting out the world along with her pain. The fear in Ava’s eyes, haunting and palpable, pierced my heart far deeper than I could have ever imagined. I'm profoundly grateful for Patrick's intervention at that crucial moment, but alongside my gratitude, there's a gnawing worry that gripped me tightly, and i.e., the web of misunderstanding that Ava must be weaving alone inside the dark and lonely room.
