213 Words
The team trudged through the seemingly endless corridors, their footsteps echoing off the mirrored walls. The reality distortion had created a labyrinthine maze, with reflections stretching out in every direction. Sophia consulted her scanner, her brow furrowed in concern. "Guys, the energy readings are spiking. We need to find a way out of here, fast!" Ryker's eyes darted around nervously. "I don't like this. It feels like we're being herded somewhere." Elara's voice was firm. "We need to keep moving. We can't let this... entity... dictate our path." As they turned a corner, the mirrors began to distort, reflecting twisted, grotesque versions of themselves. The team gasped in unison. "What's happening?" Sophia asked, her voice trembling. "It's like the mirrors are showing us our deepest fears," Ryker whispered. Elara's eyes narrowed. "It's just a trick. We need to focus on finding a way out." Suddenly, the mirrors shattered, revealing hidden doors and secret passages. The team hesitated, unsure which path to take. A faint hum emanated from one of the doors, drawing Elara's attention. "This way," she said, her voice decisive. As they entered the mysterious chamber, ancient symbols etched into the walls seemed to pulse with a strange energy. The team exchanged uneasy glances, sensing they were unraveling a dark, long-forgotten secret.
