Chapter 7

1326 Words
New day       The afternoon sun streamed in through the open window, dust particles visible in the bright rays. Awakening from the dreamless sleep of the previous night, which was honestly the least sleep I had in a very long time, my head boomed with an echoing headache. Wait, afternoon sun? I do not ever remember waking up to that: Ember always wakes me up for the sunrise. I guess that means she is still not talking to me.   I climb out of the makeshift bed to make breakf- well guess lunch, breakfast, lunch; smart Brunch how did I not think of that before? Walking over to the jug for some water, I realize I am out. One trip to the stream then.   I change into a teal sports-bra with a black tank top over it and some black leggings; might as well go for a run while I am at it. I stand by the door to the staircase down and see the new sneakers Ember made me conjure, I should wear them for her, right? Either way.   I put the sneakers on and set off running the stream, jogging at first until it dawns on me I never have to run in human form before: Ember always convinces me to run in wolf form, that thought makes me mad so the speed changed to full force and I sped around the entire three times before I calmed down made my way to the stream.   Taking the jug from my backpack, I lean down to collect the water when I hear a rustle in the bush on the side of the water. Assuming that it was just an animal I call out, "Hello?" No answer 'I must be an animal then' I thought. So, I cross over to the bush thinking that it might be stuck, except when I get there I'm met with an empty bush.   "Great, just great Ember's gone and now I'm imagining things," 'and talking to yourself my brain adds'. I groan. What is wrong with me? I go to turn around and get the water and leave back to the tower of loneliness, but I am stopped by an abrupt "Excuse me?"   I jump back at the unexpected noise slipping on a wet rock sitting on the edge of the stream and go crashing down. Expecting the splash and water to surround me I am met with a pair of strong sturdy arms encasing my waist and slamming me into what felt like a wall, but was a chiselled chest.   Almost at once, I felt sparks everywhere the arms had touched at the unusual sensation I started to squirm in the stranger's embrace hoping they will let go. The stranger doesn't let go but tightens his grip as if he fears I will run away, I decide to stop squirming and turn my head to look at his face and I find that it’s the same man I ran into at the sunrise a couple of days ago; the man that I and Ember have been fighting about.   Remembering the promise I made to myself and Ember if she was even listening, I clear my throat and the stranger- I'm just going to call him my mate- looks down into my eyes and I see his were a deep ocean blue colour and I didn't want to look away so I didn't what I deserve this luxury as I asked him "Can you put me down?" 'more like whispered' ugh my brain is so annoying.   "I don't want to. What if you run away again?" he asked speaking the second sentence with an unknown emotion,   "I won't, I promise," I whispered before you ask, yes I accepted that I can't help whispering around him) he glanced at me sceptically before turning around and setting me down on the grass.   After staring at each other for what felt like hours, my mate took a step closer to me looking up and down my body. Suddenly an animalistic growl escaped his lips, his eyes turning a stormy grey before returning to their original blue that has me hooked already.   "What's your name?" he asks slightly strained; I could tell he was fighting his wolf for control so I decided to distract him by answering his question. “Elena, what's yours?" I muttered, why can't I just talk?   A surprised look covered the strained one; probably from the fact, I just answered his question and asked him one back; I could tell that meant his wolf had given up the fight, the look quickly disappeared like it was never there and he answered, "Adrian," I smiled,   "Adrian, I like it," I muttered more to myself than him, but I knew by his smirk he heard me, I could feel my face growing hot, what is happening?   "Your blush is cute," my mate commented, and I believe what he called blushing got stronger.   Adrian's POV     Adrian. I loved the way it rolled off her tongue, like music to my ears. I didn't have too long to relish in that feeling because the next second I saw her cheeks glow red, it was the cutest thing I had ever seen and decided at that moment that I would always try my best to make her blush. "Your blush is cute," I complimented, and instantly her face got redder, not going to be as hard as I thought.   Onto more important things, I needed to figure out what pack she is from because it's not mine. "What pack are you from my dear mate?" I saw her face visibly pale at my question and I had a feeling I knew what she was going to do so before she could even think of it I wrapped my arms around her waist and lifted her. "What are you doing? Put me down... p-please" she stuttered,   "If you're not going to tell me what pack you're from I'm going to take you to mine," I could feel her start to shake after I said that but she said nothing as I started running to the pack-house.   Nobody from my pack was there at the moment since it was a training day for the whole pack including the pups and the elders liked to watch them, Merilla being one of them, so no one would see us pass through to my private estate, maybe the reason she was shaking was that she was nervous we would be seen so I thought it best to tell her otherwise, "None of the pack is there at the moment so we won't be seen if that's what you're worried about," I spoke and I felt her relax before she spoke well not spoke more like whispered,   "If you don't mind this position is kind of uncomfortable," I started to picture her whimpering and moaning under me as I made love to her leaving love bites all over her neck before I met the place I'm meant to mark her forever my canines elongated and was sinking the- STOP. "What is wrong with you Andy I can't be thinking like that right now, not when she's on my shoulder!"   "I would say sorry but I'm not, that was one vision I hope comes true," he replies sighing dreamily. Ignoring him I move Elena from my shoulder into a bridal hold to continue carrying her.   "Thank you," I hear her whisper to herself. Without realizing we had already arrived at my private home and Elena was waiting for me to open the door, "Sorry, I didn't know we were here" She didn't reply. I concluded she doesn't like to talk much. Opening the door, I carry her up the stairs to a guest room giving her some privacy "You should get some sleep I will be downstairs." I assure her, I leave the room to make my way down to the kitchen.   She will stay, right? P.S This is my first book so thank you for patience.
