Zara's POV I turned to look at him, feeling my cheeks flush but holding onto that spark of defiance. “I’m sorry, sir. It won’t happen again.” He held my gaze for a long moment, his eyes dark and unreadable. “It shouldn’t happen again,” he said, his voice low but carrying easily to the front row. “Focus on the lesson. That’s what you’re here for. And if your classmate needs help, he can ask during office hours like everyone else.” I nodded and turned back to my notes, but I could still feel his eyes on me, and I could feel the heat building low in my belly from the way he had said it.
