Chapter 12 Surprises

     The first person back was Marcus. He pulled my van into the drive way next to his house then runs next door to his mother's house.

     He runs though the door and says, "Where is she? John said he gave her a ride but she didn't look well. Whats wrong with her? I know she looked a bit off when I say her a few weeks ago but she said it was nothing. Where is she? Is she okay?" Kara smiled at Marcus. "You really have bonded with her haven't you? Calm down she is resting. I called the doctor she will be here soon. You should know I also called Nathen."" But why? You know shes not one of us, He will make her leave. No wait fine I will just take her somewhere else. I can keep her safe."" Boy listen to yourself you need to calm down. I don't think he will kick her out right now. She really needs our doctors."" Why did I hurt her? Did I make her sick? Whats wrong?"" Your going to have to wait for the doctor to check her out first but I think I know whats wrong with her."" So whats wrong with her then."" Silly boy you bonded with her and didn't use protection you do the math."" What you think shes pregnant?""Yes I do.""How can that be shes not one of us it shouldn't have happened so quickly."" She is still a women and it can happen no matter what. It also explains her symptoms and why they are so bad. Since she is human they are worse than if she were one of us."

     It was several hours later when I woke up. I felt a lot better than I had all month. I heard voices around me, for a second I wondered where I was then I remembered. I wondered if Marcus was one of the voices I heard. When I called his name the lid opened. He came over and sat next to me. "How are you feeling?"" Actually much better. What is this thing I need to get me one."" You do look a lot better than when I saw you last. I think mom is right we need the doctor to look at you."" Okay what do I have to do?"

     A women comes around the pod and says, "young lady all you have to do is relax. Since he says you look better I want to right where your at. Now I am going to scan you. Then I will know how to better help you."

     As she said this she passed something that looked like a tablet over me. When she got to my feet it beeped. When see touched it at first she smiled and then she frowned and then I got scared.

     Marcus asked. "whats wrong?"" It's not whats wrong its more of whats interesting. Our people only ever have a single child. But you young lady are having twins. It explains so much, But it also makes things very interesting and very dangerous. Also you will need vitamins. Once I tell your mother and Nathen I will need to get them for her. They will help a lot."

     With that she went over and talked to them. I looked and Marcus and asked, "Umm so are you okay with this? I'm not trying to trap you or anything. But I am a bit lost and confused right at the moment." "Oh sweetheart I am the happiest person on Earth right now. Of course I want the babies. I am scared to death right now. I wont lie about that. I don't want to loose you." With that he leaned over and kissed me. When he sat up all I could do was smile. And yes I was scared to death as well.

     Kara came around the pod. she was smiling but you could see the worry in her eyes. " So I am going to be a grandma! I am so happy for you both.We need to get Ben here so you can do the binding ceremony. You also need to request a water pod. I believe you should get a double."" Mom those are all good idea but do we know if Nathen will let her stay?"" How about we ask him."

     Now the whole time they were talking I was wondering who Nathen was. When he walked around the pod I was shocked, amazed, happy, and very pissed. Just every emotion you can think of went through me at that moment. And obviously he was surprised to see me as well. Both Marcus ans Kara asked what was wrong. I snapped out of it ans lost it for a few moments.

     "What the hell is going on? How are you here? How are you alive? Why didn't you tell ME? Just why? And with that I sent him flying away from me. I was so shocked by what I did I was speechless. And so was everyone else. Nathen picked himself up off the ground came over and knelt by my feet.

     Megan honey I am so sorry for everything."" You know mom lost it after you died."" I'm so sorry."" No you are not or you wouldn't have done it."" You don't understand I had no choice."" Then make me understand. Tell me why you faked your death just to get away from your family."" Honey it's going to be a lot to take in."" Yea well it's not like I can go anywhere.  So you have plenty of time to explain things. Now get to explaining. Kara breaks in and says, " Maybe you should start at the beginning. You owe your daughter that much. She has a right to know where she came from and what to look forward to with the twins coming." Marcus looks at me and all I can do is nod my head because I know if I open my mouth I will either start yelling again or start crying. Or both I don't know. Then Kara looks at Marcus and says, You don't have to worry about her leaving just about what being half human will do to her and the babies." And with that I did start crying.

     It to Kara and Marcus ten minutes to calm me down. The whole time my father just stood there watching, I guess he was lost in thought. Maybe trying to figure out how to tell me the truth. When I was calm and under control I asked Kara for some of the juice she gave me earlier. She was happy to get it for me. Then the tree of us just stared at Nathen.

     After a minute he started. He told me that his people came from a planet two light years past Pluto. How their planet dried out because their sun went super nova. How they made it to Earth two generations ago. How all of the people who survived the trip are living on the coast lines all over the world. There are several of our people in Hawaii. They are also on all the little islands as well. Basically anywhere there is water you will find our people. We need the water to survive. He told me his family has always ruled and since his father died last year he had to come back and lead. He said he was sorry to hurt me. He said I could stay here. Finally he asked if I had any questions.

     I took a minute to process, it really started to make sense. My addiction to water. The little things I was able to do. And the reason why I was sold. I looked at him and said, " Did you tell mom all of this?""Not all of it but yes."" Well that explains so much. Tell me have I always been telekinetic and psychic? Or is it something new?"" No you have always been we just never responded to anything you did."" Is mother special? Is that why you chose her?"" Now I loved your mother, but no she was not psychic. Why?" Because eight months ago she sold me to a guy and his son for half a million dollars and their main goal was to get me pregnant so they could have a child with my abilities. I didn't even know I had these abilities but she did and she told them all about me during the sale so she could get the most money for me. The only reason I was able to escape and go into hiding was because I over heard them after spilling oil on my dress. One little accident saved me because no one would tell ME the truth. The only help I had was from my best friend and boss Sarah."" First of all I am sorry about what you had to go through. Second I would be honored to meet the women who helped to save you from those monsters. And third you are safe here nothing will happen to you I promise."

     With that he walked away from me. I was still confused and upset but I guess I did feel better now that I knew the truth. Not only was my boyfriend and alien but so was my father. And so I am half alien, so what will that make my children? Man I hate math like this. Wow what a day! But at least I have my father back, and I am with Marcus now. Everyone tells me I am safe but I still worry about that. Man I really need to talk to Sarah she is never going to believe this.

     We sat there in silence for a minute then Kara asked,"Honey I know you must have a lot of questions is there anything I can help you with?"" I'm sure there is but not right now. I think I just need to process what I know first. Then I need to figure out where I stand in all of this. You know what I mean? But I would love something to eat. Its the first time in a few days that I have felt hungry is that a good thing? I mean it must be but I don't know. Great now I am rambling."" Don't worry honey I know what you mean. I think I can handle food. Is there anything special you want? I don't know I haven't had a home cooked meal in months."" Then I will make you one. You just rest we have to rebuild your strength. Marcus get her some more juice."" Yes mom, I'll be right back okay." I smiled and nodded to him. Then I finally started to relax.

     Two hours later I received the final surprise of the day.  After a wonderful steak dinner made by Kara we were sitting at the table when my phone started going off. Sarah had called to tell me the latest news.  She couldn't take it anymore when the man watching her fell asleep she went out and put holes in all four tires. Then she went inside and got her stuff together then went to her mothers house. She fell a few days back and twisted her ankle. She is okay but it was a good reason to leave. She told me she hadn't seen Marcus in a while and asked if I had. I told her yes and that I had some interesting news for her. When she started to answer it sounded funny. When I turned around Marcus and Kara turned as well. There Sarah was walking up the lane toward us. Marcus ran over and brought her over to us. We hugged each other and everyone sat at the table. She looked back and forth between us and smiled.

     "Okay so how long have you bee here? I should have known you were one of us." Marcus just smiled. I said, "I actually just found my way here this morning. Oh and my father wants to meet you."" Wait I thought your father was dead!"" It's a really long story, but you might know who he is."" WHO!"" He's your leader." He looks at the other two then back at me and says, "Your father is THE Nathen!"

     And as if by saying his name called him. Nathen walked over the bridge. He comes over and hugs me then he says, "It's good to see you up. How are you feeling?"" Much better for the moment. Between the water and the juice Kara keeps giving me and a good home cooked meal I feel a lot better."" Good just take it easy and stay healthy for my grand babies." Sarah started coughing and Nathen asked,"Who is this?""Dad this is Sarah. She had been helping me from the beginning. And today she slashed all four tires of the guy who has been watching her just so she could come see her mother who twisted her ankle."" Your Emma's daughter. Thank you for helping Megan all this time."" Your welcome sir I was just glad to help. But now I understand why she liked the water so much. Before all this started she was my best life guard. And I am sorry to say your wife has completely lost her mind."" Yes sadly I understand that. I have found the my space page, the f*******: page, as well as the lost child pages she has set up."" Wow I really think she wants me found."" Don't worry I have a friend working on things now the pages will be gone by morning. And if they try to do it again the virus he is setting up will crash them all again."" Nice job Nathen you might want to talk to our people on the force and see about getting her followers removed as well."" Good idea Kara I will make the calls when I get back."" Dad did you leave mom any money?"" Yes I left both of you money. You have five million dollars that is in a trust fund you get on your eighteenth birthday. Actually in a few more days."" Oh my god really? Are you sure it's still there? Did she know about it? What did you leave her?"" She got two million. Why do you ask?"" Because she sold the house. She made me get a job. We moved into a crappy house. She just made out like we were broke. And then of course she sold ME!""Yes i can agree with her, I have been to the house it is a dump. Janet kept saying they were broke. She made it sound really bad."" Okay I will look into that as well." As he turned to go Kara said, "Wait why did you come down?"" Oh yea sorry I came down to see how you were doing and to let you know your water pod would be here tomorrow. Also Ben will do the binding ceremony tomorrow as well."" That's all great news. We will see you tomorrow then."" Yes, have a good night guys. Marcus take care of my daughter. Nice to meet you Sarah. And thanks again for everything you have done for my daughter." Then he left. Kara asked Sarah, "Will you be staying for the ceremony? I could use some help getting everything ready."" I would live to. I will go tell mom and see what we can do. He never said what time though."  With that a colony wide text message was sent out. It said 2:00 tomorrow everyone is invited to the binding ceremony of Megan and Marcus. All are welcome, come celebrate the wonderful event. "Well that helps, now we know the time and place. I will see you all tomorrow. I'm glad your here, your safe, and you found Marcus. Good night all."" Thank you so much for all your help, and everything else. Good night."

     Shortly after that Marcus took me to his house. for a few hours we talked about everything that has happened. Then he made me drink another glass of juice and take the vitamins that the doctor brought. Then he put me to bed.
