I stared back at Roger, shooting him a confused look, while Candice looked ecstatic to hear the news. I demand a full explanation now. I can’t deceive his poor mom like this. But before I could drag Roger to talk somewhere private, she beats me to it. She went towards me and grabbed both of my hands.
“I knew it. You always had a great taste in women, Roger. I knew you could be a great mother for Kiara.” She stated proudly while smiling at me. I nearly choked in my own saliva.
What the hell? Mother?? Isn’t she thinking a bit too far? I jumped from being a girlfriend to a mother in a split second. This family never failed to surprise me. I’m in no position to be anyone’s mother. I barely could handle Gideon by myself. I don’t need another kid right now.
