DIAMONDS DON'T SHINE, IDIOT

1470 Words
"May the Moon shine brightly upon you." I roamed my eyes around the room and found myself where I was before. The empty room where my mother and were, just moments ago. Looking around, a gasp escaped from my lips when a silhouette of a woman started to appear in the middle of the room. Bright light radiated within her as she slowly started to become visible. My eyes went wide when another light, though not brighter than the first, emerged. This time, a young girl, probably my age, stood. I just looked at them both from a distance, unaware of what to do, as well as in so much awe to even move. "Why must I leave, mother?" The young girl suddenly spoke, making me look at her. She looks so young and beautiful, dressed in a white gown with specks of gold, wearing a golden tiara on her beautiful wavy hair, even though barefoot, she looked majestic. Though I cannot see her face, I can feel that she's downright gorgeous. "The Moon had spoken to me and told me that my time is up. I have fulfilled my duty and it is now time for you to start yours. Through this journey, you'll be able to get to know your subjects better, and to prove that you are the rightful heir to the throne." The person in the middle answered. Wearing a golden crown and a beautiful golden gown, the person radiated a very powerful aura yet feeling it, makes me feel safe. "But, mother, I'm not yet ready. I don't even know what task is it that I need to accomplish and I can't do this without you-" the girl tried to reason out, but the other person, just chuckled. She walked towards the girl and held up her chin to meet her gaze. "All I can tell you is that you must follow what your heart says, and you'll know what you have to do, the moment you have to do it." The woman slowly bent down to kiss the girl's forehead before walking back to the middle of the room and chanted words that feels so familiar to me. With a confused look, I shifted my gaze towards the girl and gasped seeing she was looking at me, smiling. "You can do it," I read on her lips as she mouthed these words. Tears started forming in my eyes as I took a step towards her. "Mother-" "I am telling you, Eric. There is no way a meteor would fall from the sky without making so much impact." My head hurts from something I cannot put my finger on. My head is spinning and I cannot open my eyes at all. "Seryoso nga, Oliver. I saw it while on patrol earlier. But unlike how meteors fall, the one I saw was shining so bright, almost as if it were a falling diamond." I don't know what is happening around me but all I can think about is that dream. Could it be that it was caused by the Blessing I received from my mother? Were those her memories of when she was in my situation?  I honestly don't know. I just hoped that she explained things even just a bit more specific to me before sending me down to her realm.  Or even, she could've said goodbye at least.  "Diamonds don't shine, Idiot. Ayan ang napapala mo kakatakas sa klase at kakalakwatsa eh, now you're starting to see things. Tsk." Napakunot ako ng noo dahil sa naririnig. Two voices of men can be heard which must've been the cause of the abrupt interruption to my dream. I tried opening my eyes once again but no avail. "Past is past, Alpha. Wala namang halungkatan oh. Pero promise, May nakita talaga akong nahulog galing sa langit banda ri- Holy s**t!" Biglang parang may matinis na kampana ang umugong sa ulo ko nang marinig ang sigaw noong isa sa mga nagsasalita kanina pa. A sound of rushed footsteps was heard, nearing me. I tried to make myself stay alert even though my head feels like it's being pounded by huge hammers. I flinched when a warm hand touched my skin ngunit agaran rin itong nawala nang mukhang naramdaman ata nito ang naging reaksyon ko. Once again, I tried to lift my eyelids open and this time, I was slowly able to. Sa dahan-dahang pagbukas ng mga mata ko, a pale shade of red welcomed me. "Excuse me, miss," I heard one of them said. After two failed attempts upon which resulted to quite a few scratches on my arms, I finally managed to sit up. Nang maka upo ng maayos-ayos, I once again opened my eyes slowly to see what lies in front of me. Greens of the tree's leaves, brown from it's trunk and yellowish orange, for the fallen leaves on the ground. Two figures are standing in front of me, at a certain distance. Due to being startled, napa-atras ako habang dahan-dahang iniaangat ang aking tingin upang makita ang kanilang itsura. A low growl escaped from my lips looking at the two. I then grasped my lips to stop myself from doing so, shocked that I growled for the first time in my life. "Hey, are, are you alright?" A tall guy on the left asked, a bit hesitant to speak. He was dressed in a white tee and black pants paired with combat boots. He looks handsome, as to how my mother would describe pretty beings she created, the opposite ones to our gender. "Who are you, and where are you from?" My eyes moved away from the one on the left to the one on the right. Wearing a black tee, black pants, and combat boots, this guy is more than a pretty face, I couldn't help myself but to stare at his face, not minding what he had said. I have never once, been out of myself in my entire life. Meeting Children of Gods and Goddesses was normal to me and it was said that Aphrodite's son's look is incomparable to none. But seeing this being created by my mother in front of me, I couldn't help but disagree. I tried thinking of many possible excuses but none of them would seem to be justifiable. If I were to say that I am a child of a goddess, they would most definitely think that I am out of my mind. I cleared my throat first before answering, "I- I don't know." I said. That was by far the most and only stupid thing that came out of my mouth. Nakataas ang isang kilay ako nitong pinagmasdan. "You don't know?" I nodded. "I can't remember anything." Rason ko. "Well, I'm sorry but I can't have you staying in my territory without knowing who you are and what are your motives." He's right. I remember my mother telling me about how low her creations' trust is. And she also told me that she holds not one bit of her creation's feelings so this must've become nature to them. "I expect you to leave my territory as soon as possible. You don't smell like us, what are you?" Muling tanong nito sa akin. I bit my lip before answering, "I don't know," I whispered. Seriously, I feel like all that's going to come out of my lips from this point on are the words ' I don't know '. Biglang naging alerto ang dalawang nasa harap ko at ang isa sa kanila ay mahinang bumulong, "Rogues," the guy wearing a black tee then looked at me and spoke "They must be here, looking for you." his voice was laced with nothing but coldness, as his stare sent shivers down my spine.  My eyes widened at the unfamiliar sensation that started creeping within me. My heart started to beat fast as well as my breathing started to pick up its pace. I blinked a few times trying to calm myself but no avail. A whimper slipped out of my lips which made them both look at me. A low growl then was heard from the guy wearing black. I closed my eyes thinking he was gonna come at me and attack but a minute has passed and nothing happened to me so I opened my eyes and a gasp escaped from my lips at the sight in front of me. "Werewolves,".
