The council meeting had left a bitter taste in my mouth. Really? How could they expect me to just marry Ava simply because she's willing to help me fight off the Rogues? Marriage takes a lot of time, effort, responsibility and commitment that I'm not ready to give now.
And how come they were so blind to see through Ava's selfishness and manipulation. If she really wants to help like they say, she won't have requested her something in return in these dire times. Instead, she had turned the disastrous situation around for her own benefit.
She isn't fit to be Luna. A true Luna would have done everything within her power to save her people first.
But every breath I took felt heavy. Every word from the Elders still rang in my ears, sharp and unrelenting.
