Raven’s POV
The moment Kane and I returned from the council, I asked him not to press any further charges against Darius. I could see it in his eyes—he wanted blood, anything that would pose me to be the bad person, the bad disowned daughter for reasons I do not know.
But I didn’t want Kane to carry that weight on my behalf. He's protected me enough. I know he feels like that because he thinks he is to be blamed for the strain in our relationship. Kane isn't the cause. The relationship between father and I had turned sour since he married Jasmine and I felt like he only took advantage of the situation then to cut me off completely.
I will deal with everything myself because at the end of the day, Darius would still be his family—his future father in law—when he finally married Ava.
