Chapter 3

Katie's POV

I woke up and smiled when I seen that Veronica was still asleep. It was about 5:00 and Veronica had another hour to sleep so I let her go. I kissed her forehead then went to take a shower. After I was done I walked back into our room and into the closet, where I picked out a simple outfit. Black dress pants and a dark blue dress shirt.

I walked out and grabbed a matching pair of bra and panties then let the towel drop. I got dressed and blow dried my hair and put it up. Then I put on some mascara and lip gloss and I was ready for the day. I heard Veronica groan from behind me and turned around to see if she was awake. Nope. I walked out the door and down to Ana's room.

"Hey you. What are you doing awake?" I asked.

"Mommy." She reached for me.

I picked her up and we walked down back into mine and Veronica's room. Seeing as it was already 5:50, I decided that she could wake up.

"Go get momma." I told Ana.

She crawled over to her and kissed her, "Momma up."

Veronica shifted and rolled over. SHe mumbled something about 5 minutes and went back to sleep. Anastasia looked at me as if she was asking 'what the hell' and I laughed. I shook Veronica making her groan and mumble about hating school.

"Momma up!" Ana yelled.

Veronica rolled over so fast, she fell of the bed. Ana looked at me and the bursted out into laughter. I smiled and looked over to make sure Veronica was alright. She looked up at me with sleepy eyes.

"Can I stay home today?" She asked me.

"Are you sick?" I asked.

"No."

"Then no. Get your cute little ass up and get ready for school."

"Mm oo?" Ana asked.

I think that was a 'me to' but I'm not sure., "No. Not you. Your going to see Ka." I said.

"No." She said.

"Yes."

"Momma Ka?"

"No. Momma has to go to school."

"Momma no."

"Yes she does." Ana looked heartbroken.

I sighed, "You want momma to stay home?"

"Mm." Ana said.

"Okay. Momma can stay home."

Ana smiled and held her arms out to Veronica who was now sitting up. Veronica grinned and picked her up then started to dance around the room with her. I sighed, I wanna stay home with my girls. I picked up the phone and called my boss.

"Hello?" Mrs. Ross, or Shania, said.

"Hey Shania. Its Katie. I was just calling to tell you that I'm not feeling to well and I'm just gonna stay home." I told her.

"Uh huh. Is Veronica staying home to?" She asked.

"Yeah." I laughed.

"I thought so. Alright. I'll call in a substitute. Have a nice day Katie." She said.

"You to Shania. Bye"

"Mm-Bye" She hung up.

I looked up and smiled at Veronica and Anastasia. They were still dancing around. When they finally stopped I told them that I was staying home and Ana screamed. I smiled yet again and went to make some breakfast. 'Hmm, could we try Ana on eggs?' I wondered.

Fuck it. She was eating them. I made up some scrambled eggs and then went to work on cutting up some fruit for a fruit salad. Ana loved her fruit. After that was done I made toast and plates and called up to Veronica. When I got no response I walked up to find them both passed out again. I smiled and took a picture then woke them up.

"Hey munchkin wakey, wakey." I said to Ana.

She woke up and smacked Veronica making her wake up instantly. Veronica picked her up and we went downstairs. She put Ana in her highchair and started to feed her while trying to eat at the same time.

"So, what's the plan for today?" Veronica asked, chewing on a grape.

"I'm not sure yet." I watched Ana pick up a piece of watermelon and pop it in her mouth.

"Mmm." She said.

"That good?" I asked her.

She nodded and put another piece in her mouth. Then she picked up a grape and held it out to Veronica. Veronica took it and made sure to bite her fingers softly. Ana giggled and looked at me. Uh oh. She picked up a piece of a strawberry and threw it at me.

"Hey now. Keep it on your plate or in your mouth." I told her, taking mine and Veronica's plates to the sink.

I walked out and gave her a small piece of toast. She looked at it for a second then popped it in her mouth. I smiled and she reached for more. Veronica got up and went to look for a kids movie. I sat down and finished feeding Ana. She hod just ate the last of her eggs when Veronica came back holding The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Happy Feet Two and, of course, Frozen.

"Which one Ana-rocket." Veronica asked her.

Ana looked at them and raised her hand to point at The Lion King but of course she had to point at Frozen too. Veronica smiled and went to put in the movie and I took Ana out and went to make us some ice cream. When we walked out Veronica was just starting the movie. We sat down and I smiled at her. She was just so beautiful. She smiled back and wrapped a blanket around us all.

I wasn't really paying attention to the movie. I was watching Ana and Veronica. Then it got to the part where Scar killed Mufasa. Ana whimpered and I looked at her. She was crying and pouting. I looked over at Veronica. She was trying not to cry but ended up failing miserably. I kissed her forehead and Ana's head.

"How can you not cry? Do you have no heart?" Veronica asked me.

"I wasn't watching it." I said.

"So! You still cry when you see that!" She said.

"I'm sorry." I smiled at her.

She grinned and kissed me. There was a knock at the door and I sighed and gave Veronica Ana. She got comfortable in Veronica's lap and went back to the movie. I walked over to the door and raised an eyebrow when I seen Sammie and the gang standing at the door.

"What are you guys doing out of school?" I asked them.

"Is Veronica ok?" Sammie asked.

"Yeah. She's having momma daughter time with Ana-rocket." I told them.

"That's all we needed to know. We new that you were ok because Veronica would have called if you weren't. We have to unfortunately go back to school now. See you later." Sammie said and the all walked away.

"Bye." I smiled.

"Who was it?" Veronica asked as soon as I sat back down.

"Sammie and the gang. They were making sure you were safe and then they said bye and went back to school." I told her, kissing her.

We went back to watching the movie and when it was over, Ana was passed out so we laid her down on the couch and Veronica laid down with her. Soon she was asleep too. I got out my grading book and students work and started grading. I finished and started to put the grades in my book.

"100, 100, 100, 97, 100, 78, 100, 86, 86, 86, 54...54?" I mumbled.

"Who got the 54?" Veronica asked.

"You know I can't tell you that." I told her.

"Was it me?" She asked.

"No."

"Was it someone in my group?"

"Yes."

"Sammie?"

"Nope."

"Justine- no"

"Nope."

"Justin. Its Justin."

"Yep."

"I knew it wasn't Justine or Faith. Their both way too smart. What I get?"

"100."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Oh."

"Why?"

"Is that the homework?"

"Yeah."

"From the other night?"

"Yes."

"Ana-rocket gave me all the answers. She pointed to them and I filled them in."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

I laughed at that. I looked over and smiled at the sight before me. Veronica was on her side with Ana facing her. Veronica had an arm around her so she didn't fall off the couch and Ana had her arm around Veronica's neck. I picked up my camera and snaped the picture. They looked so cute like that.

"What do you want for dinner?" Veronica asked.

"I don't know. Do you wanna order?" I asked her.

"Sure. Chinese ok?" She asked.

"Yeah but its only.... Oh my god! Where has the day gone?" The clock read 5:58pm.

Veronica smiled and Ana woke up. She was going to be up all night now. While Veronica ordered the food, I played with Ana. She was building and making me help her. She pointed at a block and I pretended I didn't know which one she was pointing at.

"The green one?" I asked.

"Mm." She said.

"Ok." I handed her the block and soon enough, she had built what looked like a car without wheels.

A block car without wheels. It was nice.

"You and your momma with the art skills." I said.

"I have no art skills." Veronica said, sitting down with a bottle of grape juice in her hands.

"Mhm sure you don't." I said.

Ana crawled over to Veronica and pulled herself up. She smiled at us and pointed to the dvd player, "Goo mm."

"You wanna watch Frozen now." Veronica asked her.

She nodded and Veronica put it in. 15 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Veronica grabbed the money and walked to the door. She came back and grabbed plates to set up the food. After we ate and the movie was over, I brought Ana upstairs to take a bath. As I washed her hair she pointed behind me.

I looked behind myself to see Veronica sitting on the sink, "What?"

"Nothing. Finish up. I wanna go cuddle with my girls." Veronica said.

We finished her bath and dried her off before Veronica put her pj's on her. They had monkeys all over them. Ana's favorite animal. We walked into our bedroom and laid Ana down in the middle of us. But she had other ideas. She sat up and climbed on top of Veronica.

"Hey squirt. Its ni-night time." Veronica said.

"No." Ana said.

"Yes. Momma's tired." Veronica said.

"No." Ana repeated.

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"You wanna go see Ka tomorrow?" I asked.

"No!" Ana screamed.

"Then lay down and go to sleep." I told her.

"Mmmph." Ana said, laying down.

"Night baby, I love you." I said. "Night my other baby, I love you too."

"Good night. Love you." Veronica said, leaning over to kiss me.

I kissed her back and Ana stuck her hand in the air to stop us. We looked at her to see her grinning up at us. We both kissed her forehead and fell asleep. Life can't get better than this. Oh wait. We dodged Mariah all day. No. It really can't get better. But we do have to deal with her tomorrow. f**k Mariah. Ugh!!
