LOGAN BLACKSTONE I tried to rein in my swirling anger and disbelief. The thought that Bella could have pushed Scarlett down the stairs was almost too much to bear. I needed to keep my composure for Scarlett’s sake, but it was a struggle. “Why did you argue with her?” I asked, my gaze steady, my voice as calm as I could manage. “Logan, we should drop this and—” Scarlett started, but I cut her off. “Tell me why you argued with your sister, Scarlett,” I insisted, my tone growing more serious. “I need to know.” Scarlett’s eyes widened. I could tell she hadn’t expected me to be this intense, but the situation was critical. I was on edge… anyone who threatened my family’s safety earned my full, unfiltered rage. I had dealt with a lot of threats in my life, and I didn’t take them lightly.
