Eira’s POV The cold air in the corridor bites through my jacket, but the light keeps us moving. Pale blue-silver petals glow along the walls, casting long, moving shadows across the stone. I watch the flowers as we walk. At first, I thought they were pointing the way. But as we pass a narrow junction, I stop. They aren't all pointing forward anymore. Some stems angle backward. Others turn directly into the solid stone walls. A few were even bent downward, toward the floor. "Eira?" Soren asks, pausing. "Give me a second," I murmur. I step closer to a cluster of blooms near the wall. The moment my boot crosses an invisible line, the petals flare. The silver edges brighten, casting a sharp, clear light across the stone. I take a step back.
