Natalie frowned. Before she could process what was happening, Aria had already grabbed her hand and let out a piercing scream.

"Ah! Stop it, please! Mrs. Stewart! I truly love Mr. Stewart, with all my heart!"

The moment Natalie fell into the road, she saw Cassian rushing out of the hotel.

Two deafening crashes rang out as the sedan slammed into both women.

Natalie was thrown violently through the air and landed several yards away.

"It hurts!"

The overwhelming pain forced her body to curl into a ball.

As her consciousness blurred, she felt as though every bone and organ in her body had shattered. Aria was also thrown to the ground, blood spilling from her mouth.

"Aria!" Cassian rushed forward in a panic, not even sparing Natalie a glance.

He strode past her and gathered the injured Aria into his arms. "How are you? Aria, how are you? Don't be scared. I'll take you to the hospital right now!"

"It hurts so much!" Aria clutched the front of his shirt and said weakly, "But don't blame your wife. She didn't do it on purpose..."

"Why are you talking about that right now? We're going to the hospital. I won't let anything happen to you!"

"But your wife..."

Only then did Cassian turn to look at Natalie in the distance. She looked miserable. Her injuries were no lighter than Aria's and possibly even worse.

His heart softened, and he was just about to set Aria down.

But the woman in his arms suddenly whispered, "There's something I never told you. I'm pregnant... but I won't be able to give birth to our baby anymore..."

"Don't say such foolish things. We're going to the hospital right now! You'll be fine, and so will the baby!" Cassian immediately started walking, stepping past Natalie.

The pain in Natalie's abdomen grew increasingly unbearable. Warm blood continued to flow beneath her.

A terrible feeling suddenly washed over her.

With great difficulty, she stretched out a hand, trying to grab the leg of his trousers.

But she couldn't reach him.

"Cassian... save our baby..."

He never turned back.

As the car drove away, Natalie's final trace of consciousness disappeared into darkness.

When she woke up again, she was already in the hospital. The doctor had just finished examining her.

"Mrs. Stewart, fortunately your injuries aren't too serious, and the baby is safe. Look, this is your baby's heartbeat. Doesn't it sound wonderful?"

Listening to the strong, steady heartbeat coming from the machine, Natalie fell into a daze.

Her period hadn't come for a while. She had assumed something was wrong with her health. She never expected to be pregnant.

The collision had been so severe, yet the baby had survived unharmed.

Originally, she planned to divorce Cassian and had no intention of keeping his child. But looking at that tiny life, Natalie decided she would give birth to the baby and raise the child alone.

"Compared to you, the young woman next door is in much worse condition. She lost the baby."

Natalie blinked. "Aria was pregnant too?"

"That's what I've heard. If you don't need anything else, I'll leave now. Mrs. Stewart, call a nurse if you need help."

The doctor had barely turned around when Natalie noticed Cassian standing by the doorway.

"Why? Why would you do something like this?" He walked toward her step by step. His face was cold, and his eyes were filled with cruelty and determination.

Natalie's heart instantly tightened. That dreadful feeling returned.

"Cassian, what did Aria tell you? She was the one who pushed me into the road—"

"All I asked was for you to let Aria have the birthday banquet. Was that enough reason for you to try to kill her? To kill my child with her as well?" Cassian gripped her chin tightly, his voice sharp and merciless, "Natalie, you know I've always despised this kind of dirty behavior. You've truly disappointed me."

"What?"

Just as she expected, Aria had accused her first. At this point, Natalie no longer cared to explain.

"Cassian, if you choose to believe her, then I have nothing to say."

"Since you've done something wrong, you should be punished. Aria lost her baby and is emotionally devastated. She knows you're pregnant too. Her only request is that you terminate this child."
