Chapter 20: The Prophecy

252 Words
Elara's eyes were wide as Arianna led her to a large, crystal ball in the center of the room. The ball began to glow, and Elara saw images flashing before her eyes. "A prophecy," Arianna whispered. "One that speaks of a great darkness threatening the land, and a witch who will rise to save it." Elara's heart was racing as she stared at the crystal ball. The images showed her standing on a hill, a staff in her hand, as a dark force loomed in the distance. "You," Arianna said, her voice full of conviction. "You're the one, Elara. You're the witch who will save the land." Elara's world was spinning. She didn't know what to believe, or what to do. Part of her wanted to run away, to hide from the responsibility that was being thrust upon her. But another part of her was determined to face whatever lay ahead. She was a witch, and it was time for her to fulfill her destiny. Arianna smiled, as if she could sense Elara's resolve. "It's time, Elara. The darkness is growing, and the land needs you." Elara nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She was ready to face whatever lay ahead, as long as she had the support of those she loved. As they stood there, the crystal ball began to glow brighter, and Elara felt a surge of power flow through her. She knew that she was ready to face whatever lay ahead, and that she would not be alone.
