"What have I done?" Julian whispered, his voice nearly lost to the roar of the wind pouring out of the silver gate. The floor of the monastery trembled violently. Before him, the black shadows that had emerged from the Stabilizer Key began to solidify, forming faceless figures that radiated the chill of death. Julian tried to move his arm, but an overwhelming weakness struck him. The shards of the Sovereign’s Seal scattered around him looked like dead fireflies that had lost their light. "You have freed the truth, Julian," Master A stepped forward; his white robes remained completely unstained even as stone debris fell all around him. "You thought you could stop me with that pathetic digital virus? You have actually destroyed the only barrier that kept this energy under human control."
