16 The mountains stretched off into the distance, disappearing into fog and trees. A distant waterfall whispered a continuous calming melody of solitude and life. The setting sun colored the sky with shades of pink and purple, framed perfectly by jagged, snow-covered peaks. It was beautiful, sublime. Meg stepped up to the edge of a small outcropping, slipping her shoes off to take in the feel of the uneven surface, hard and smooth in the places where the rocks peeked out from the dirt.
