7 Meg put her bag down and walked through the house. Mark had checked every room before he left, but she still found herself looking in every closet and behind every shower curtain, before she could relax. Lying down on the living room couch, she pulled a throw pillow to her chest and stared quietly out through the window. The dim light from the setting sun shone through the open curtains. She thought briefly about closing the blinds and curtains, but she was too tired to bother with getting back up. Letting her eyes drift closed, when she opened them again it was to find that night had fallen.
