“Oh, my God,” Mark cried out. Opening his eyes, David surveyed the room. The strong wind and intense light were dying down. Some objects had been overturned or were out of place, but for the most part, the room seemed none the worse for wear. And then he looked to the center of the room where Nicole had been sitting. She was doubled over on her side, her eyes closed. All traces of the great power he’d sensed were dissipating, and he could sense the overwhelming exhaustion running through Nicole.
