Nothing to write today, save that a new Vietnam truce is on and the fighting is down considerably. Somehow, truce seems to rhyme with ruse, or is close enough. But, all in all, I’m becoming less scared of my friends being drafted. I’m 1-A so I have fewer worries. I went to an anti-war demonstration on campus during my first semester, thinking it might turn violent, like at Kent State, but it did not. I stood in the background, listening, but the sound system did not entirely work, so people became restless and left. It was anticlimactic. I drank a few beers before I went there, and I was buzzing a little. I thought I might meet a few girls or know someone from my classes, but I did not.
