Shouldn’t Annie be dating men her own age? Why would she want to go to the movies with me again? I had a great time, but it felt like we were pals, especially since we brought Mike to see American Graffiti, with us.
American Graffiti, Opie played this preppy guy. Annie said 1962 wasn’t like that for her. It certainly wasn’t my 1962.
We dropped Mike at home. When I dropped Annie off, I wanted to kiss her, but she hugged me goodnight instead. That was okay, but it left me feeling hollow inside.
I want so badly to kiss her, just once.

Checking the ads today, “The Thing” by Volkswagen costs $2,750. It’s so ugly. A new Pontiac Catalina is $3,800. I’ll never pay that much for a car. A Ventura is only $2,833, only $83 more than “The Thing,” and a much better car.
