President Nixon said today that he will not turn over evidence related to Watergate, and that he would not turn over tape recordings and documents sought by both the Senate Watergate committee and prosecutor Archibald Cox. Part of me doesn’t believe Nixon did anything wrong. I believe the Democrats are embarrassed because Nixon did not start the Vietnam War, yet he’s ending it, when LBJ did nothing. My parents are Democrats and I have always been a Democrat. I’m in Nixon’s corner a little more than I am comfortable being, and it’s probably because he’s ending the war.
