Lucy's point of view
As soon as those words left his mouth, my wolf went silent again. I couldn't believe my ears, am I dreaming?
"Leo... what's going on? What are you doing?" I ask confused.
"Accept the rejection "He ordered.
I shook my head vigorously. "Rejection? But why, Leo? Why reject me?" Tears welled up in my eyes, threatening to spill over.
He scoffed and glared at me "Did you really think I loved you?" He asked me in a surprised voice "Why would I, the future Alpha of this pack be mated to a weak werewolf like you"
His words hit me like a tidal wave. If he never loved me, then why did he spend two years with me? Why did he say he loved me? Why did he touch me? The questions swirled in my mind, but I couldn't voice them.
I was now in tears "Why?" that was the only word I was able to say.
Leo's frown deepened. "Since you want the entire truth then that's exactly what I will tell you...I found out you were my mate two years ago, you were so weak and miserable, I knew that I couldn't have you as my mate or the future Luna of this pack, you would be a disgrace to me".
He made a step closer while staring at me intensely, watching my every move "I wanted to break the bond immediately, but the moon goddess was cruel to me, I couldn't resist the mate bond so I decided to enjoy the mate bond until it was time for you to find out that I was your mate, then I would sever all ties" He said to me.
I shook my head again, tears streaming down my cheeks. "No... No," I cried, my heart-shattering. Apart from my grandma, Leo is the only one that made me happy, I really felt loved by him.
"Accept the rejection," Leo repeated, his voice relentless.
"I..." Tears rolled down from my eyes, I held my chest, I was heartbroken, With the pains I felt, I couldn't add to it by accepting the rejection, because based on the rumors I've heard, mates who break the bond, undergo some level of pain. With the way I felt right now, I just couldn't add to it.
"No!" I yelled, then turned and ran, fleeing from Leo and his heartless rejection. Fortunately, he didn't chase after me.
I went back home feeling heartbroken and rejected, how could everything turn out like this? I lay on my bed and sobbed. My grandma saw me in that state and tried to console me, even though I couldn't bring myself to tell her what had happened.
The next day, I became ill, my grandma tried finding the cause of the illness but to no avail, I just laid on my bed in the same state I was in, when I returned from our secret place, Shirley came to warn me that I must get back to work by tomorrow.
I just couldn't answer or talk to anyone, all I could hear were the words that Leo said to me, two days later, I was forced to resume work.
It was almost midnight and some of the werewolves would have started going home. As I took my cleaning equipment and headed to the training ground, I witnessed a sight that crushed me even further. I saw Leo kissing Bianca in public, I felt my breath seize, and the bucket I held, fell from my hands in shock.
"Oh my, they're already flaunting their love," an omega remarked.
"Leonard is lucky to have a mate like Bianca," another werewolf chimed in.
Mate? Bianca?
Desperate for answers, I approached the werewolf. "What do you mean by what you said?" I asked frantically.
"Haven't you heard? Leonard announced that he found his mate which is Bianca," the werewolf explained.
I gripped his shoulder, desperation in my eyes. "Bianca isn't his mate. It's all lies!"
"Wow! Get off me "the beta shoved me away. Because of my weak state, I fell to the ground. When I raised my head all eyes were now on me, people were whispering to each other, and my eyes went back to Leo, who was now staring at me coldly.
I stumbled back to my feet "How could you choose Bianca of all people!" I screamed through my tears "You see what she does to me, yet..." I said ignoring the fact that everyone was watching.
Leo's cold gaze silenced me. "Don't be delusional, Omega. I don't care what she does to you. I only care about her." he said sternly.
"You..."
"I forbid you to say another word" Leo used his Alpha voice on me, commanding submission but what he didn't know, was that the Alpha voice didn't work on me, probably because my wolf was silent. I wanted to speak again but held my tongue. Disobeying an Alpha meant death for me and my family.
I bit my lips and ran away, my heart shattering into a million pieces. First, his rejection, and now, he had done worse by choosing my tormentor as his mate. I fled to our secret place, a sanctuary filled with cherished memories.
"Lucy," a voice I both hated and feared called out Bianca. I turned to face her, trembling.
"How...do you know about this place?" I stammered, taking a step back.
She smiled sinisterly. "I had someone follow you."
"What do you want from me?"
"I know what is going on between Leo and you because I have recently gone through the same thing, I and Leo are the same, we can't mate weaklings" She glared at me while also taking a menacing step closer. I retreated, panic rising.
"I can't allow you to sabotage my plans and the effort I made to get to this stage" She smirked.
"Your grandma....she isn't old enough to leave this world"
My eyes widened "Please, don't involve my grandma in this." I begged.
"Yeah! Yeah!" She nodded. That was unlikely Bianca to agree without a fight. "I won't harm her. But you'll have to do something for me."
"What is it?" I asked, desperate and afraid.
"I want you to leave the pack."
