====chapterContent Lucy's point of view I quickly closed my eyes, afraid to look down. I knew we were both without clothes, so I pushed him away without thinking and went back into the water, trying to hide my naked body by going as deep as possible. Feeling super embarrassed, I could hear him chuckle. "What's so funny?" I wondered, frowning. I didn't see anything funny; it was just shame and embarrassment. Even though it was getting hard to breathe underwater, I refused to come out. I knew he had seen me naked before, but I still couldn't face him right then. I heard him get out of the water, and I stayed underneath. He said, "I'm leaving. You should come out before you end up drowning." When I couldn't hear his footsteps anymore, I finally came out, gasping for breath. I felt like I might have actually drowned if I stayed in the water any longer. I quickly grabbed my clothes and put them on as fast as I could. I walked back to the Rogues pack. "Why didn't I check around before diving into the water?" I scolded myself in my mind. How could I be so silly to jump into the river without making sure there was no one around, especially a guy like Alex? Thinking about Alex, my mind wandered to his half-naked body and strong chest. I couldn't help but smile, feeling warmth at the memory of him holding me. Then, I frowned a bit, realizing what I was doing. Am I crazy? Why am I thinking of Alex that way? Is it because I'm pregnant? I nodded to myself, thinking it must be the hormones making me think these things about him. As I got back, Suzy was waiting for me at my hut. She walked up to me and said, "Alex is waiting for you." "Wow, he's quick. Wait," I was alarmed. I didn't see any reason for us to meet, especially not after what happened by the river. "Why?" I asked. I really didn't want to see him again, especially after tonight. "He's supposed to take you around the forest and show you different routes. We use traps a lot, so all Rogues must know the parts of the forest filled with our traps," Suzy explained, linking her hand with mine. "Why Alex of all people? Why always Alex?!" I screamed in my mind. I didn't understand why the goddess didn't seem to favor me that night. "That reminds me," Suzy said, breaking into my thoughts. "Rebecca will likely interrupt you and Alex. She takes any chance she gets to spend time with him, so try not to get too annoyed by whatever antics she displays." Suzy gave me a heads-up. I nodded, remembering that Rebecca had been chasing after Alex for two years. "He'll be waiting for you at that big tree where he always hangs out when you're done," Suzy added, looking at my half-dressed soaked body. "Meet him there," she said before leaving. I got myself ready, both physically and mentally, before heading to meet Alex. As we started walking around the forest, he showed me places where traps were hidden. While he talked, I made sure to keep a bit of distance between us. I was still feeling awkward about what happened at the river. He continued talking, pointing out traps, and explaining how to spot them. Despite my embarrassment, I couldn't help noticing his handsome face. No wonder Rebecca fell in love with him; he was the definition of handsome. As we walked, we found a little rabbit caught in one of the traps. Alex freed the rabbit, and I didn't get why. Wasn't it better to bring it back to the Rogues pack for a meal? I must've shown my confusion because Alex noticed. "Do you have something to ask me?" he inquired. I nodded. "Why did you save the little rabbit? It could've been our next meal." I frowned a bit, curious about his choice. He smiled a little, saying, "The little rabbit is too innocent. I guess I couldn't bear to kill it." I gave him a strange look. "But you can kill bigger ones. Why?" I asked. He shrugged, saying, "I don't know, but the innocence of the little rabbit caught my attention and earned my favor." "Do you always do that?" I asked, curious about his actions. "Yeah, I don't like hurting little animals that can't fight for themselves. Everyone deserves a chance to fight," he explained. I couldn't help but smile at his kindness. I tried getting closer to him, but then Rebecca showed up. For some unknown reason, I felt a bit annoyed by her presence. "Oh my gosh, I didn't know you guys were coming here," she pretended it was a coincidence. I almost screamed, "It's an obvious lie!" I was sure Alex could sense she was lying too. Alex stayed silent, ignoring Rebecca as she quickly followed him. "Since I'm here, let me join you and Lucy on your little tour," she happily chirped. Alex didn't seem interested, not bothering to stop her. Suddenly, I felt like a third wheel and thought about leaving. "Lucy," Alex called my name. "Yes," I answered. "About what happened tonight, don't be too embarrassed. I-" His words made my eyes widen. Was he going to talk about the river incident? I quickly screamed, "No," trying to stop him. Rebecca turned sharply, staring at me suspiciously. I nervously laughed, saying, "Alex, you're so funny." I made them both stare at me like I had lost my mind. I mean, who wouldn't? He was about to tell Rebecca what happened in the river. It seemed like Alex understood that I didn't want to talk about it, especially in front of others. So, he didn't press further. Rebecca kept trying to talk to him, but he didn't respond for what felt like forever. Eventually, Alex told Rebecca to leave, saying she was distracting us and making it hard for him to show me the places properly. I noticed Rebecca felt unhappy about it, but she could only nod. "Alright, I'll be on my way," she said sadly to Alex and me before departing. Alex turned to me and said, "Come. I want to show you something." I followed him as we climbed a big hill that seemed to have no end. My legs started shaking from the stress, and Alex noticed. He transformed into his wolf and asked me to get on his back. I couldn't say no because I really needed the help. He began taking me to the top of the hill, his fur was soft, and his big body made me feel small on his back. We finally reached the top. "Wow!" I exclaimed, taking in the beautiful sight. I could see the entire Rogues Pack and the surrounding forest. I stood up from Alex's back, and he stared at me in his wolf form. "It's beautiful," I commented, relaxing against him. "I can stay like this all day," I said to him. As I continued talking about the beauty of the place, I started feeling sleepy. I couldn't resist resting my head on Alex's fur; it felt good. I wrapped my arm around his wolf form, embracing the softness of his fur. I shut my eyes, blocking out the moonlight, and in this position, Alex didn't seem like a scary werewolf. I felt secure and at home, like nothing could hurt me. Enjoying the moment, I lost track of time and gradually fell asleep. I opened my eyes a little, still half-asleep, and heard Alex's voice. "Adorable," he said, gently patting my hair. Because of my sleepy eyes, I couldn't make sense of what was happening. All I could see was that he was in his human form. I shut my eyes again, letting sleep take over.
