The Shadow of Amulets

Slight Weakness

Link's POV

"Well, it seems since you've won I'll have to honour my word," Valence said defeated as he stood in front of both of us and Elvia. "Well a promise is a promise and it was a good idea to ask for a map since we don't really have any idea where we are," Alaan said laughing.

"Well don't worry Alaan, you shouldn't have a problem finding your way back, this map is very detailed," Valence said as he handed the map to Alaan.

Since it was getting dark, Valence offered for us to stay the night which we gratefully accepted. The night passed and it was morning and we were ready to leave.

Valence came up to me surprisingly.

"Link, I wanted to tell you that I'm gonna work harder and get stronger to get to your level. Your the strongest Archer I've ever seen" Valence said he shook my hand. "Thanks, Valence, it means a lot" I reply. "So what's your secret huh?. What kind of training did you have haha" he asked with a chuckle. I paused for a moment. "Just a load of repetition," I say slowly while looking down...

After 10 minutes of saying Farewell, we waved all of them goodbye and we headed out of their camp.

The three of us walked on for 5 minutes before we stopped.

"Well I guess we're off to find more of the Amulets," I say. "Also I wanted to ask you something Elvia," I say turning towards her. "Yes, what is it?" she replied. "Are you going to join us in the search for the rest of the Amulets?" I say awaiting an answer. "Oh..umm..well...------ " She said before she was cut off by me. "It would really help if you would come," I say quickly. "Yeah, Link's right!. After all, we would have never found the second Amulet if you weren't there to show us the trick Elvia" Alaan added in with a thumbs up. "Also, I think it's pretty clear that this Amulet was meant for you since your visions lead you to it," I say while pulling out the purple Amulet. "Here, you deserve to hold on to, this," I say as I hand Elvia the purple Amulet. Elvia was silent for a few moments until she decided to speak.

"I was honestly planning on finding the other Amulets on my own. But what I didn't expect was you two" Elvia said with a slight laugh. "Really?" I reply. "Yeah, I figured these visions were trying to tell me something and it started with leading me to this Amulet. I don't know what they are or why they have something to do with me but I know I should use this gift to help you find the others" Elvia explained. I was a bit surprised at how she found the second Amulet, but she will definitely help in finding the rest. I smiled.

"Honestly when we first found you back at the Elder Tree, I thought you were some kind of evil masked assassin," Alaan said rubbing the back of his head. But then I realized you weren't trying to kill us, haha and Link says he trusts you so that's good enough for me" Alaan added. "Thanks for finally trusting me, I guess," Elvia said with a slight laugh. "Well, then I guess that settles it. It's time to search for the next Amulet" I say slightly seriously. "Yeah!!!" Alaan shouts with enthusiasm. "This is gonna be interesting," Elvia said with a smirk.

We travelled from Camp Felgraze and went more northwards to find a good place to settle down and plan our next move.

We travelled for about an hour before we managed to find a small part of the forest where it didn't habitable.

"We should rest here for a few hours to discuss the plan going forward.

"Alright then, I'm cooked so I'm gonna fall unconscious for a bit. No one wake me up!" Alaan said with an angry expression.

"Alright then," I said after Alaan fell asleep instantly. "Hahaha" Elvia let out a small laugh. "I need to take care of something so could you go out and get some wood so we can start a fire for the night? " I ask her. "Sure thing, I won't go far," she said before she left.

As for me, I had something to do and it involved arrows and trees. I picked up my bow and headed out not too far.

Elvia's POV

I went to gather some logs. I was pretty fast since I've done this quite a few times before. As I was looking for wood, I felt something in my pocket.

"Wait what's this," I say confused and I reached in my pocket only to realise that it was my Amulet. I held in my hands amazed at its design and I pondered the reality of what I was doing. "I still don't understand why I was drawn to this Amulet. If Link found his amulet and I found mine then there's no telling how many there are and when they will be found" I say in my head. All these questions bounced around in my head before I snapped out of it.

I quickly got the wood and returned to our small campsite but found Alaan sound asleep and Link nowhere to be found. "Link!?" I said raising my voice slightly only to get no response. "Where did he run off too," I say curiously as I walked around.

After 5 minutes of searching, I heard a noise coming from a certain direction and it sounded like someone was shooting arrows. I quickly followed my ears for a few minutes and it lead me to where Link was...

I stood there curiously watching what he was doing. His back was facing me so he couldn't see that I was there. It looked like he was training... Arrow after arrow he kept shooting at different trees and it looked like he was annoyed at something.

"Link... What are you doing out here?" I say raising my voice so he could hear me as I walked up to him. "Woah!! Elvia! Oh, it's you! Didn't know you were here" Link said as he turned around to face me. "It looked like you were doing some training with your bow," I say. "Yeah, I thought I would shoot some arrows for practice" Link replied. I continued to look at him, he was hiding something.

"I never got to talk to you about your match with Valence. He was a very skilled Archer but you finished him like it was nothing" I say reminiscing the fight. "Well you know, I'm sure he would have done some serious damage if I hadn't gone for a quick win" he replied while rubbing the back of his head.

"When I saw you training, it almost looked like you were angry or annoyed at something," I say.

Link's smile stopped and it turned into a serious expression. He paused for a few moments as he looked to the ground. "As great as it looked, me finishing off Valence in such a quick time... I was sloppy. My reactions, strength and accuracy have certainly decreased" he opened up slowly while looking away as if he was displeased with himself.

I was very surprised considering how quickly he dealt with Valence. "How strong is he?" I said in my head. "So that's what's been bothering you," I say. "Well I would be too if I lost all my skill" I add on.

"Wait no. I meant I've gone slightly worse, not from 10 to 0" Link explained. "Well, I'm sure you will get more better on this journey. A beginner can always reach for the stars" I say with a small laugh. "I'm still an experienced Archer! I'm no lousy startup! Link hammered sounding riled up. I continued to laugh until I realised we had to get back.

Link's POV

"Anyway, we should probably head back. If Alaan wakes up and finds out we're not there, he'll tear down the forest looking for us" I explained.

"Yeah, your right. Let's head back" she said.

We walk back to our small campsite to find Alaan still knocked out. "Ughh, he's still asleep. Elvia wakes him up" I say. "Ughhh" she replied with a tired expression.

Unknown location

Approximately 12 am Midnight

This took place yesterday

"Who the hell are you!!" A bandit shouted to a hooded stranger dressed in black. "You think you can just walk in here, in my camp without a reason huh" he shouted.

The stranger said nothing.

"Oh, you think you scare me covering yourself in black!"

The stranger said nothing.

"You know what I'm getting tired of this clown...kill him," the Bandit leader said as he ordered his henchman to kill the stranger.

"You shouldn't have barged in here, now your gonna die," the henchman said as the rest flanked around him armed with knives.

The stranger didn't move.

"Your dead!!!" one of the henchmen shouted as he attacked the stranger.

"!!!!!!!"

(Thud!!!!)

Silence filled the place as they witnessed what happened.

The Bandit stood there for a few moments and then slowly fell backwards and smashed the ground.

"What the!! How did!!" the other henchman echoed as they saw one of their own get impaled with his own knife in the blink of an eye. Blood kept dripping from his body and it started leaking around the ground.

"Kill him!!! Now!!!!" the Bandit leader screamed. The other henchman all attacked at once.

Dodged, and reversed his blade into his throat.

Kicked to the gut, and slit the neck.

Disarmed him, broke his left arm and then stabbed.

And for the final henchman, knee to the face snapped his leg and then snapped the neck.

All the henchmen were dead in front of the leader and the stranger hardly moved.

"Well, you come in here, kill my henchman and without saying a word. You think I'm gonna let you leave" the Bandit leader said he got stood up and walked towards him. He pulled out his long sickle and proceeded to attack him.

The stranger dodged, however, the bandit immediately delivered a flurry of hits causing the stranger to start moving. Attack after attack he struck but no shot connected. The hooded figure swiped his legs with extreme force causing him to be sent flying to the ground. And to his surprise, the hooded figure pulled out a weapon and that was a bow...

He smashed the bandit in the throat with the front part of his bow which made him collapse onto the ground. He kept coughing and groaning as he tried to breathe in any air he could take in. He grabbed his throat from the pain as he continued struggling for oxygen.

"Who...are..you..." the bandit leader said weakly, gasping for breath whilst coughing up blood.

The figure slowly walked over to him standing over him. He pulled out his bow and started to aim his arrow towards the bandit's face. "Who am I?..." the stranger answered as he bent down to the ground.

"An Archer brought from the dark," he said slowly.

Screams and agony are what was heard next as the stranger thrusted an arrow through his body as it was shot from his bow.

The stranger did nothing but walk away from the bloody scene and continued to walk past their camp and into the forest.
