A Breath Of Fresh Air

Link POV yawnnnnnnnnnnn I slowly sit up on my bed feeling quite tired. It is 10:00 am and I gaze at the window to see a bright blue sky. I get up out of bed and open the window only to be greeted by a gust of wind. I could see many knights stationed at different posts and the large warrior flag waving in the air. It felt quite refreshing. I quickly clean myself and get ready. (Link has slightly long black hair and has grey eyes). I put on my gear which consisted of grey trousers and black boots. On top, I wore a grey full-sleeved shirt and a dark green sleeveless tunic over that which went down below my waist. A black belt strap was attached around my waist which could hold a small black side bag on my left side. I wore another black strap diagonally around my chest which could hold my quiver with my arrows in it on my back. I also wore black fingerless leather gloves with an armguard around my left forearm. A black hood and a black face covering were attached to my tunic, however, I would only use it when I would go out into the woods which I rarely did. I picked up my bow and stepped out of my room. As I was walking down the hallway, I hear someone running and I already could tell who it was. It was my friend Alaan. He came running to me excited in his normal knight attire which consisted of a brown shirt with black trousers. He was covered in his silver armour from his chest to his feet. He had an extra cloth around his arms and legs, A brown belt around his waist and He had blonde hair and brown eyes and he was slightly younger than me. He is the son of the King and has been my friend ever since they brought me in here when I was little. "HEY LINK WHAT'S UP!" he shouted. "You don't have to shout so loudly Alaan" I chuckled. "Good you're fine, so let's go to the grounds, the elder knights said they would train us and teach us some new sword fighting techniques," he said. "I don't see why I need to keep training as a knight, after all, I am an archer". I said. "Come on man, this is the land of the warriors so that means everyone has to train to be like one. It can be like an extra skill since you're like the only person in this castle to have archery skills let alone insane archery skills Alaan said. "Well I was raised in the forests with my father for like 6 years before I came here," I said scratching the back of my head. "Well, either way, your gonna train your sword skills with me today now come let's go," Alaan said as they both run to the battlegrounds. We both arrive at the battlegrounds ready for training. As we walk towards the grounds we are stopped by an elder knight by the name of Sir Vivian. "Stop you two, your late, and that means tougher training," Vivian said "Oh come on 'vivvs' cant you lay off the harshness for one day," Alaan said. "Never call me 'vivvs' again unless you want an easy death", Sir Vivian shouted angrily and he grabbed Alaan and tripped his legs causing him to fall to the ground on his back. "Owww that really hurt! What other takedowns you got for me, wrestling?" he said sarcastically and he gripped his back with his arms around his back tightly. "I told you not to make fun of him and now look where you ended up hahahahaaah" I fell over laughing. "It's NOT FUNNY LINK" he shouted and then quickly slid his foot at my legs causing me to fall over too. "not so fun to get tripped over hahaha" Alaan laughed loudly. 10 minutes later Alright, you two pick up your swords and come at me with all your power. Knock me down and you win" Sir Vivian explained. "Alright, Link let's do this" Alaan said with determination. "Yeah, we got this, there's two of us and one of him. You attack from the left and I'll go for the right, that way he will have to defend both of us attacking from different directions". I said. We both charge at him and Vivian blocked both attacks with two strikes of his sword, he then pushed us back and then pounced forwards going for Alaan. Alaan quickly blocks but then Vivian swipes his foot to knock Alaan off his feet. I swiftly run towards Vivian and attempted to jump up and strike him from above. He sees it and blocked my aerial attack but what he didn't realize was that was a decoy move to let Alaan deal the final blow. As Vivian focused on me, Alaan got up and charged towards him slightly picking him up off his feet and therefore causing him to fall to the ground along with Alaan. The match ended with Vivian defeated and us victorious. "WE DID IT LINK!! HAHAHA," Alaan shouted with excitement. "Yep haha, I see you noticed me winking at you," I said. "Yeah I knew you were trying to be the bait for me to take the final blow," Alaan said. " Put it there bro," I say as I extend my arm looking for a fist bump. "Yeah, we're both awesome! Linkith" Alaan said as he punched my fist with energy. "Linkith"? I say with confusion. "Good work you two, nicely played," said Sir Vivian as he got up and gave us a group hug while squeezing the life out of us. "We....get it... so stop trying to kill us...." Alaan said weakly as he and I were being crushed. "Next week is going to be a lot harder and dangerous so the both of you keep on training because you still got ways to learn," Sir Vivian said with a serious face as he turned around and walked off. "Now that he's gone, Link you have to keep helping me learn archery. If you keep teaching me then I'll be as skilled as you one day" Alaan said excitedly. "Alright then, I don't mind. Let's go to the back of the castle, and ill help you train by shooting arrows at the trees. That's how I was taught when I was a child". I explained.
