Beloved friend!
It has been a while since I’ve written. The days are colder and shorter, and I’m burning more candles to finish a large order of embroidered slippers for another shop in Bath. Someone purchased a pair from the first shop that agreed to carry them, and I believe her sister mistakenly went to another shop to buy a pair for herself. The next time I went to deliver a few things to the first shop, I visited a few others, hoping to find more interest, and discovered that the proprietor of one had already heard of me!
What good fortune!
I also visited the top modiste in Bath, but I am not sure I liked the result. Mme Allard is very busy, and she has a group of women who work for her and do her bidding. I did not like that she wished me to help embroider a pattern of her own des
