Greetings.
My name is Roman Dryden. Perhaps you have heard of me by now through the gracious intervention of Lady Durand. I am writing to ask your leave to call at Stonemeadow House at your convenience to discuss an arrangement, which by now I hope you have considered. I have been in London this past month on business, and Lady Durand gave me leave to contact you regarding a meeting. I believe I can get to Bath quite easily and thence hire a conveyance to take me directly to Avoncliff. If this arrangement is agreeable to you, I will be in Bath in the first week of November and can be reached at the Bear.
I apologize for the impudence of this communication if you have not yet heard from Lady Durand.
