“How did it go?” Ivy asked as she saw me return.
“He gave me this,” I said, flashing the card in her face. She took it, scanned it briefly and handed it back.
“That means you got picked. I stripped topless, but he still didn't choose me. Did you have to strip?”
“Not at all. He even said my dancing was pathetic, and I'm shocked that he still selected me.”
Ivy shrugged her shoulders. “You're lucky then. Madam Betty said he'd compensate all the girls that weren't chosen. We just have to wait until tomorrow to get paid.”
We headed towards the reception and picked our jackets. As we exited the club, I wondered if it was because of my yellow lingerie that he picked me.
Ivy had plans to stop at a popular karaoke joint, but me, I just wanted to go home. She felt a bit shocked at first when I told her that I wouldn't be joining her. She eventually brushed off the idea of karaoke and dropped me at my apartment.
It was already late into the night. The clock read that it was a few minutes past eleven pm.
As I took off my jacket, I faced the mirror with my yellow lingerie and admired all the contours of Bella's body. She sure was sexy, and that could be the reason Mr. Dom chose her, or could the reason be because of the yellow lingerie or the fact that the voice used magic on him to make him pick Bella.
[I'm a system, not a magician.] The voice instantly corrected me.
System—got it.
Inasmuch that I wanted to take the offer of meeting him at his suite, I still felt a bit of reluctance.
Dancing without my clothes sounded uncomfortable to me. I could imagine my boobs spilling out to the sides, taut and exposed, while my butt wiggled with each step that I took.
This wasn't my body. It belonged to Bella, and I was certain that she didn't feel shy anytime she did her profession of stripping. I could hold on to that fact, and accept to do Mr. Dom's bidding, just for the thrill of feeling what I had never felt while with Steve.
I slipped into comfortable night clothes and headed to bed. I opened my i********:, and the bright light from my phone reflected on my face.
Steve's i********: page was the first thing that I searched for. He had already gotten married to the woman he was cheating on me with. I saw their pictures where they held each other. The smile on his face was broad, nothing like I had seen while he was with me.
I scrolled through his feed for some more time. Both of them were on their honeymoon. It was then that I understood why I saw him in this foreign city, at the clothing store.
“Bloody bastard.” I cursed aloud. He was doing all the things he refused to do for me with this woman. Their relationship wasn't nonchalant like the one both of us shared. Everything I wanted, from dates, to honeymoon to shopping and even public display of love, he was showering it on her.
While we were married, he hadn't uploaded a single picture of me on his social media.
I exited the app as rage was boiling in me and proceeded to check out the location on the card that Mr. Dom gave. It wasn't a lengthy distance from here, and I was sure that Ivy would oblige to drop me there.
My stomach growled and I stepped out of bed. I couldn't believe that I hadn't eaten anything tangible. The fridge was still empty except for the stack of donuts which I planned to throw out. I needed to do some grocery shopping tomorrow.
I helped myself with a meal of macaroni and cheese. While I was busy with the food, an email entered my phone on how Bella had been granted the job of an attendant at an art store, and could resume work from anytime within the week.
When I was done eating, I didn't feel sleepy anymore. I watched a movie on the TV. It was about a woman stepping out of her comfort zone and doing something wild that she had never done before. I felt like the movie was speaking directly to me, that I should do what I hadn't done before.
When the movie ended, I proceeded to watch another one. Sleep began creeping into my eyes. I was half way into the movie when I finally slept off.
When I woke up, I could still hear the sound from the TV buzzing in my ears. It was still dark, and a quick glance at the clock revealed that it was 4am.
I found it hard to sleep again, and just ended up staying awake till the sky brightened.
It was a new day, and I had to make my decision if I wanted to see Mr. Dom or not.
Just then, my phone rang, and the caller ID revealed the same person that Ivy warned me to avoid.
