I felt instant relief as I stared at my neighbor. She was the same older woman who escorted me to Bella's apartment the first day I arrived. I had used the excuse of seeing some rats to get her to walk me there.

The officer walked towards Fred and held him by the shoulder. “Come on, leave.”

Fred hit the officer's hand off and stumbled out of my apartment with his hands swinging by the sides in an angry manner.
