“You took your time,” snapped Kiko as he saw Police Chief Gordon and several deputies rush over, guns drawn. They must have turned their sirens off on the way, probably so that Bobby wouldn’t have enough warning to slip away again.
“Stand back,” said Gordon.
“He’s in the maze,” said Kiko, ignoring him. “Bobby Hennson. He’s your shooter.”
Gordon took a moment to eye him.
“Where’s the other one?” he asked.
“Dom. Still in the maze. You only brought deputies?”
Gordon’s wrinkled face pulled into a scowl.
“Notified everyone. Now stand back.” He and the other deputies pushed forward, but Kiko turned and followed them, leaving Sean to swear at his back.
