Chapter 20 Of course it had to be a f*****g maze. Dom ran and ran through it, corn stalks stretching up over him like a canopy. There was no sky here. He couldn’t go through the corn. He was forced to run the paths, and down every turn Bobby’s eyes glinted, the instant before death. Dom wheeled, dashed down another path, another dead end. As if that wasn’t bad enough, waking drenched in sweat made him feel even more trapped. He’d lost count of how many times he’d dreamt this; he got up and went to the bathroom, splashed water on his face. When he got back into bed the heat was still oppressive, but Kiko rolled over and wrapped his arms around him, relaxing him enough to fall back asleep again.
