Xzavier POV Ari was asleep, tucked in against my chest, one small hand fisted under her chin, the other splayed out across my chest. We had worn ourselves to the brink of exhaustion before crawling under the covers. Sleep was slow coming for me tonight. Tomorrow I would start moving warriors into position for attack. All the intellegence I had received pointed for us to make a preemptive strike on Black Crest. They were traveling by convoy, stopping to pick up warriors on the way. Their numbers were still lacking compared to the warriors and special forces I had at my disposal but I didn't want them getting close to pack territory.
