🖤🩸“I have always wondered what my destiny was. This vampiric witcher believes it’s to bear his pup, and to drink from me.” – Frida King🩸🖤
…
The fairy girl was still on the floor and couldn’t move.
I noticed she was paralyzed on the floor, and couldn’t move a single bone yet struggled to get up with a grunt.
“A thousand leaps, all of you!” Elder Zu let out.
I attempted to move but noticed no one did, this made me stand in place and wait only for someone to ask,
“What about her, Master?”
“Let her be. A warrior who fights his battle should know how to face the consequence,”
“Noted, Master,” she answered. The next thing I knew, there were moving sounds. I reshuffled my hair a bit, enough to cover my face and not be noticed, but also enough to see a bit.
This made me form the columns with them as they started the leaps. The snow hit my hair, as I ran so hard.
The girls came up with a song to not get bored, but the entirety of it all made me lose in thought. I recalled my training.
It had been rigorous. And most times, I asked dad why a Princess was training to fight, he answered me with the same thing.
“We have a lot of enemies, Frida. As an imperial city, we have to keep everyone safe. You’ll understand one day.” Dad will say.
“Mom, you can’t possibly side with Dad? My bones ache, I ran in the sun all day. Should a Princess be doing this?” I’d ask.
“Listen to your dad, my child. You see, I was once in a situation that required my intense training, and it saved me. So, he’s right,” she’d tell me.
I noticed most of the girls were panting already. My Lycan wasn’t tired. She had been through a lot. Our training was not easy.
I didn’t show it though. Instead, I panted like I was the same way. Elder Zu studied us calling me to the side at some point. With my hair still covering my face I went to him.
“Are you from this Kingdom, child?” he muttered, asking. I nodded,
“Yes Master,” I couldn’t be discovered now. Not if I still wanted my head. There was a lot to find out, and I had to be careful.
“His Majesty arrives!”
I sighted King Draco from a distance, with some escorts and people hovering an umbrella above him to protect him from the snow. I stirred as he connected his dark eyes connected with mine from a distance. I furrowed my brows, once more as my Lycan surfaced.
“We’ll have this discussion later,” Elder Zu said, “Stay here while I go meet his Majesty,” As he said this, I watched him pace towards the King bowing down at him. This made me clench my fists.
Betrayer. After swearing loyalty to my throne and my Kingdom, he did the same to another. Knowing this, I wanted blood. I wanted revenge.
But there was no way I could do that now. If I wanted to, I had to be patient. Especially after knowing my position as Queen wasn’t secure.
I stared at the girls who were already tired, panting so hard and pausing to recover. I followed them, staying beside Lisa only to see King Draco staring at me.
My Lycan became more excited immediately, a bit jumpy making me furrow my brows. I noticed she was this way the last time. “Hmmph,”
Maybe it was time to ask her. You.
Why are you always excited every time he’s around? She was silent at first but then I tugged at her, making sure she answered me. Because he’s our mate.
I widened my eyes at this realization.
No, this can’t be. If it were, my plan of getting my mate soon was shattered. I could not mate him. There was no way, I didn’t know what his blood comprised, and could not take the risk.
I wanted a fellow Lycan as a mate. I sighed. Why was this happening to me? First, my parents disappeared leaving no trace. And next, I just found out he’s the reason I’d be mateless for life.
No, I had to reject him. Perhaps, the Moon Goddess will pity me and send a second chance mate. But then, I had to be Queen. Was this a better opportunity to use?
Every supernatural’s weakness is his mate.
I should use it to my advantage. Good. Why didn’t I think of that? This was what I was going to do.
I was going to bring it to his notice, somehow, and go with the flow till I was finally crowned Queen. And then, I was going to reject him.
This would be when I finally inquired and finally traced my parents. If they were here in this castle, it’d probably be the prison cells. And with lots of guards, going there would be almost impossible.
Not if I were Queen.
…
“If this isn’t madness, who lets a group of girls do a thousand laps?” Lisa complained.
By the time the girls returned to their quarters, they were so tired. Lisa asked me to help massage her legs, which I did with an ointment our assistants brought.
She was lucky to be awake. Most of the girls had collapsed on the bed when they came back.
“All for the greater good,” I said in a mimic tone as I replied to her. She stared at me with suspicion on her features.
“That’s strange,” Lisa muttered. “Why aren’t you tired- oh, I keep forgetting every time, you’re a-“
I brought my hands to her lips instantly to protect her from saying anything else. She had to be careful, the walls had ears. As soon as she got the message, I disconnected my hands from her mouth.
“I’m jealous,” she pouted lying down and I smiled telling her, “You do not have to be,”
“Some people are made stronger than others, to protect those with no strength,” I said repeating mom’s words.
Staring at Lisa, she had already fallen asleep.
I moved to cover her properly before standing up. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity to get in touch with Nynaeve, I slipped inside the bathroom.
I twisted the lock, to secure the parameters before binding my clothes to my legs. I shifted to my Lycan on my knees allowing us to heal from today.
Once we were done healing, I commenced opening the portal with my wolf spirit emanating. And then, I saw it, a picture of her dark skin in my head as she said,
“Dearest Frida, I got your message. You were wise to participate in the Games. I was right about you having your parent’s blood. But be warned, that the Kingdom of Shrekers is more brutal than it shows on the surface. Leave there the minute you locate your parents, so it doesn’t cost your life.”
Her spirit wasn’t active but had left this message a long time ago. Thus, I sighed withdrawing and next, I shifted to my human form. The sooner I wore my clothes; I walked out, clicking the door softly behind me.
I tiptoed back into the room making my way to the bed only for large palms to pull mine drawing me close.
My eyes connected to King Draco in confusion wondering what he was doing here.
“Your Majesty?” I uttered, with worry lacing my tone.
It made me wonder how long he had been here. Nynaeve made it clear I had to be careful. But I didn’t expect that he’d show up in my quarters in person.
He was the King and thus, had the power to summon me.
Yet, he didn’t. It made me wonder why? Could it be that he was already aware of our bond or was I just imagining things?
“Frida,” he murmured at me.
“Do you want something?” I asked.
“I need you,”
