🖤🩸“I have always wondered what my destiny was. This vampiric witcher believes it’s to bear his pup, and to drink from me.” – Frida King🖤🩸
…
I took the mirror King Draco gave me, sitting on a stone. Quickly, I cleaned my face with the insides of my green gown reaching for my hair which had some black smears on it.
The curls were still smooth though. I tried to rub in the residues on my clothes but still wasn’t satisfied. The moment it was fairly okay, I got up.
I knew I had to survive.
I had to keep moving and not get disqualified.
With this thought, I searched for the fig leaves, following the same trail King Draco took. Thanks to them, I was able to sidestep a bit of thorns, and find my way back to the castle.
Just as I did, a brief smile occupied my features. There was stillness and a quiet calm which made me look around. Where was everyone? Not a soul took this path.
Was it a restricted area, if so why did the King not stop me? Dismissing those thoughts, I quickly hurried to where everyone walked, pushing though moving arms.
I swayed and sidestepped a lot of folks, squeezing myself amongst them as I headed to the Great Dance.
Sighting Lisa, I breathed in relief, looking around only to see some guards heading my direction. I tried to avoid them to prevent getting in trouble only to see some musicians.
They wore green too, making me blend with them, minimizing myself to squat at some point, before slipping beside Lisa.
As I did, Lisa stared at me with an unreadable expression with confusion on her features as she said,
“Where were you?” her voice, a whisper.
“I was the last to leave and got lost,” I replied.
My heart thudded, as I became out of breath from the journey here. Thus, I puffed out air before adding, “The trails are confusing,” As I said this, something else caught my attention.
Some servants roamed about, with white pale skin. I noticed they seemed stone cold with, their lips chapped and dry. This made me arch my brows as I stared at the people they served. They wore glamorous outfits, with the same cold look which made me wonder what this place was.
Why did their servants look like vampires? Were they all vampires or I was following the wrong trail...?
Even if I was, getting out wasn’t an option. Not until I found mom and dad.
“It’s a large castle, so it’s highly normal to lose direction,” Lisa suddenly said.
“Sorry?” I let out.
“I was talking about the fact that you got lost, where was your head?” Lisa said. I wasn’t given a chance to reply as the woman from earlier, came forward.
It was Maria, the Fox Woman and she made her way to the middle in amber clothing which was decorated with a fox material on the right hand. Her chin high enough to compliment the clothing, in a leading demeanor.
“Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the second phase of the games.” she said with a slight bow at the King, Draco letting out those words.
The King was sitted right ahead, on his throne with two powerfully dressed men beside him. Maria turned her gaze to us like she checked if we before facing the King saying,
“Permission to commence, my King?”
“Permission granted.” King Draco said and just as he did, the other two men beside him nodded too. This made me guess that they were the General and Priest.
“In this level, you are required to dance in synch with the group assigned to you.” Maria said.
She then snapped her fingers, and our assistants stepped forward with some nervous expression which said something was wrong. Question was what?
“Please arrange according to your numbers, miladies.” They said to us before commencing to help divide us.
Each group consisted of 6 occupants and for some reason; Lisa and the fairy girl were in my group.
“Now do not forget the rehearsals you took at Lady Rita’s school of dancers, use your best techniques to have a shot at being selected,” they whispered.
Lisa gave a confused expression and so did I.
“L-Lady what?” she let out.
“Rita’s school of dancers, I suppose you’ve mastered your skills already, milady?” Lisa’s assistant asked her.
Damnation. Why did no one mention this until now?
I thought the rehearsals were inside the castle according to mom’s story. Why was it changed?
I wondered if was the rumors were true. I recalled mom mentioned something about the last dancer head taking advantage of the girls some type of way.
“O-Oh yes, I have,” Lisa said, nodding at her assistant even though her eyes were disturbed. We headed the same path. There was no way she learned dancing at the mentioned woman’s school.
Or else she was a quick learner. If she was, a high chance of her mastering the steps during the days we were apart was possible.
Since she arrived the city before me. As the dance commenced, the orchestra played the piper something different from the normal tune.
I watched the first and second team dance with so much skill. My mind laced with worry on how I was supposed to participate without knowing the learned steps?
I had to do something. Question was what?
Just as I created a plan, group 3 was called. Together Lisa, the fairy and three other girls went on stage. With me being the last.
“Who can dance the best?” a girl asked. “We should put her as the lead,” This was my chance. I had to seize it.
“Um, I?” I raised my hands, letting out. All eyes directed at me including Lisa’s whose face wore surprise.
“What’s your name?” the girl asked.
“Frida,”
“What house are you from?”
“House of the Pumpkins,” I let out, not even realizing what I said until it came out of my mouth.
“That’s surprising, I have never heard of a house like that,” the other girl replied.
“I understand your concerns, milady but I must inform you that my house is a newly acquired one, and we are very few as of now,” I lied knowing I couldn’t be caught. I had to be fast with all I was doing to not get entangled in complicated twists.
“That makes sense,” the third girl said.
“Can you try and make your best dance skill help us win, we need the points?” the initial girl said.
“Moreover, Lady Rita’s going to eat us alive if we mess this up! She put a lot into training us,” she said, staring at a direction.
Just that instant, my eyes connected to a slender woman dressed in an English manner. Wearing a pearl necklace, her hands beheld a fan, with her lips containing a polished lipstick. She sophisticatedly smiled a bit with her chin up and a straight posture.
“Okay, I will,” I said. “But be warned. I have a thing of going out of normal to suit the music’s theme,” The music commenced playing.
