Chapter 56Billy Bristol stepped forward. He had to stand on tiptoes to look through one of the pair of small, square windows mounted in the front door. His head shifted as he looked around, examined what he could see through the tiny window. He gazed ahead, then to the right, then to the left; he stretched himself higher and directed his eyes downward. And he froze. Stretched taut on tiptoes, head tilted down, Billy froze.
