She was standing in the graveyard where Matthew was buried. It was too dark for her to clearly see anything but she recognized the air around her, felt the buzzing of insects. It was place she had walked a million times in dark. It was the place she had started to lose her last of human. Looking down at her hands, she felt like they had shrunk, her thin bony fingers were smaller, neater. She started walking, counting her steps as she remembered them. As she walked, things started to become clearer, she could see better and she was sure she was on the right path. When she reached his gravestone, someone was already standing there, hitched forward, staring at the grave silently. He turned when she reached closer and she met Matthew’s eyes which were staring at her like she was a stranger
