Chapter 22
Monday
WHAT A WAY TO begin the week, Jake thought, as he carried a tray of food into the bedroom. He set the tray on one of the chairs, then looked at Josh, who was still out cold. Rex was sniffing at the food on the chair, so Jake decided to take the tray back to the kitchen until Josh was awake. Rex followed him into the kitchen, wagging his tail. Jake looked down at Rex. “Sorry boy, but you’ve had your quota of food for the day.”
Jake sat down at the island and disposed of his own food, then he stuck his head in the bedroom to check on Josh, who was still sleeping.
