Chapter 2

I knew that Liam was obsessed with me and i also knew that being with me in this type of situation was like heaven on earth for Him. He had just returned home from an early morning business meeting and i could tell that he was so exhausted but the moment he entered our room, and he heard the shower being turned off, He knew that i was already up so he came to meet me. The moment he opened the door, he heard me say something but honestly, I knew that he stopped hearing a word i said the moment he saw me in a towel. Liam and I had been married for three years but each time he sees me in a towel or my birthday suit, he gets so excited and so does Leo, his wolf (still can’t believe that’s the name he gave his wolf). He knows i was talking, i can assure you of that but i doubt he could concentrate.

“Mate. Mate...wants.”

My wolf had screamed and I couldn’t agree more. For the first time in over 3 days, I let my wolf take control and before I knew what was happening, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. “BANG...BANG...BANG...”

I was about to curse out loud then I heard the person yell

“MEG I SWEAR TO HEAVENS, IF YOU DON’T COME OUT OF THAT ROOM RIGHT THIS MINUTE I’LL…”

I knew that voice... it was Liam’s baby brother

“Who does he think he is, yelling at my mate?”

Liam growled and he hurriedly got up from the bed before moving towards the door. Now I know he loves his baby brother and he would do anything for him but anyone who speaks to me mate like that would most likely pay. Liam was possessive and protective of me and no one had the right to yell at me. I mean, even Liam doesn’t yell at me. He rushed towards the door, ready to give his brother an earful. He almost tripped on his shoes that he had carelessly flung to the side of the bed when he walked into the room.

“YOU’LL DO WHAT??!!!” he yelled the moment he opened the door and saw Kyle’s shocked expression.

“Oh…uhmm…Liam……i…mean…uh…I didn’t know that you were already back from the executive meeting.” Kyle said as he struggled to find the right words to use.

“so you’re telling me that this is how you disrespect her,” Liam said while turning to point at me who was now standing close to the bed, fully dressed in a white corporate suit and black pump heels while applying my makeup

“Mate. Looking…yummy”

Liam whispered and I had to remind him that he was still scolding Kyle. I was holding back my laughter when he turned his attention back to Kyle who had visibly turned pale. “Liam…I” he tried to speak but Liam snapped.

“THAT’S ALPHA TO YOU AND LET ME REMIND YOU THAT THE NEXT TIME YOU TALK TO HER LIKE THAT I’LL FORGET THAT WE ARE RELATED AND DEAL WITH YOU” Liam yelled and balls of sweat ran down Kyle forehead but just as he grabbed Kyle by his collar and pulled him close, i stepped in and asked him to calm down. I placed my hand on his shoulder and almost immediately, i could see all the anger that Liam had vanish.

“Babe, calm down. I’m sure that Kyle meant no disrespect. He had been here earlier to remind me about an important meeting we had this morning. I was about to get ready but then you walked in and then… well you know the rest” i said before chuckling. I knew that hearing me laugh calmed Liam down because he slowly loosened his grip on Kyle before letting him go.

“Geez calm down bro, you know I would never disrespect her. She’s practically family. I... look, this meeting is important for the company and although I know that you have a bunch of other companies, you put me in charge of this one and I want to prove myself to you”. Kyle said while adjusting his tie and I saw that Liam instantly felt bad that he had overreacted. “Sorry man’’ Liam said while patting Kyle’s back and before walking back into the room. By this time i was now ready and looking gorgeous but professional. Liam always said that he knew that he had made the right choice when he made me the financial secretary of his second-largest company while Kyle was the CEO. I placed a brief kiss on his lips and he instantly took a long whiff of my scent

“Mate…want…mate” “Calm down, she’s already late for her meeting” Liam argued with Leo…(i mean.. I like to think that he was arguing with Leo because he was muttering)

He said goodbye to Kyle and i before closing the door behind us. I knew he could hear me laughing while a furious Kyle was complaining quietly. I’m sure he just chuckled and walked into the bathroom to take a shower. I had already reached the car, i remembered that i left my tablet on the bedside table so I had to go back. I walked back to the room but before i could knock, i heard the shower running. “he must be in the shower” i said to myself. After he was done, I walked into the bedroom and walked to the bedside table to pick up my tablet. He saw me and started smiling like a small child. I could tell that he remembered the beautiful moment we shared together. I smiled before turning to leave but he grabbed my hand and asked me to stay abit but i reminded him that he needed to sleep. He had gotten up by six a.m. to attend a board meeting that lasted for three hours simply because those ridiculous executives couldn’t come to a single agreement. It took some time before I was finally able to convince him to sleep.

I got up to leave but then heard something ring close to Liam but I figured it was all in my head so I just turned to leave the room.

“RING…RING…RING”

It took a while before I realized that the ringing wasn’t in my head but that it was from Liam’s phone going off on the nightstand. I heard him groan before getting up to reach for his phone. He looked at the screen but it must have been an unknown number

“Who is this?” he said as he looked at his phone go off and just as he was about to pick it up, the phone went silent. “Oh thank goodness,” I said as he kept he phone back on the nightstand and i left the room, closing the door behind me. I was about to walk away but the moment I turned around

“RING…RING…RING”

“OH FOR THE LOVE OF”

Liam yelled as he angrily picked up the phone and screamed into the receiver

“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHY WONT YOU LET ME SLEEP” he yelled

“Li…Liam is...is...that you” a female voice spoke and I instantly froze.

“Who is this and how do you know my name?” Liam asked but rather than getting an answer, the lady on the other end started crying. At this point, I could tell that Liam was getting angry and he threatened to end the call but then she spoke

“Li..Liam it’s me... it’s Grace” the lady said and I heard Liam sit up. “Grace?” he asked

“who’s grace?” i thought but i still listened

“Yeah... hi,” the lady said but I realized that she sounded different. She sounded broken.

“Grace are you okay? You don’t sound so good. You sound” Liam started to say but then she cut him off.

“HE’S TRYING TO KILL ME” she yelled into the phone and the call ended and i ran back to the car and got in. Trying my best to keep things to myself.
