Chapter 4

Meg's Pov

“SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE, HANG IN THERE LUNA”

I had collapsed and wasn’t breathing properly. I could tell that Kyle started panicking but the ambulance was yet to arrive so he carried me up and ran to his car. I was carefully placed in the passenger’s seat, he then closed the door, got in and then drove off to the nearest hospital. “come on Luna stay with me” I heard him say before placing his hand on me.

“If anything happens to her, I’m going to look for that man and make sure that he regrets ever stepping foot in that office”

Kyle growled before he nodded in agreement. He reached for the phone in his pocket and i think he tried to call Liam.

“BEEP BEEP… BEEP BEEP… BEEP BEEP” no answer

“come on, come on… Liam picks up” Kyle said whilst placing the phone on my ear again but there was still no answer so he angrily tossed his phone down and looked at me.

“don’t worry Meg, I won’t let anything happen to you,” he said as we drove into the hospital parking lot. He found a parking spot, turned off the engine and got out before running over to carry me out of the car. The moment he ran into the lobby some nurses saw us and ran to assist us. I know he wanted to follow us in but he was asked to wait outside. While he sat there, he called Liam again but still no response. I can guarantee that Kyle didn’t know what to do so I decided to call Cindy, our receptionist and his mate and ask her to come stay with me while we goes out to look for Liam. Just as he was about to dial her number he heard the screeching sounds of tires in the parking lot and before he knew what was happening, Liam ran into the lobby screaming.

“WHERE IS SHE? WHERE IS SHE?” Liam screamed and Kyle ran to him before he got physical with anybody. The moment he saw Kyle , he ran towards him and stopped midway before grabbing hold of Kyle’s shoulders and shaking them violently while yelling.

” KYLE WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO HER? WHERE WRERE YOU? WHAT’S GOING ON”

Liam yelled and Kyle asked him to calm down or else they would not know what was going on but his statement only seemed to enrage Liam more so he told Liam what happened but he intentionally withdrew the man’s true identity. Just as Liam was about to ask Kyle who the man was, the doctor walked out to tell them that i had just suffered a small panic attack but that i would be fine. Those words seemed to calm Liam down and he followed the doctor back in to see me while Kyle told him that he would go back and get my things from the office. As Kyle drove there he couldn’t stop replaying the words that man had said to me and he got angry all over again. By the time he got back to the office, everyone was visibly worried about me and they all let out a sigh of relief when Kyle told them that i was going to be fine. He saw the genuine concern on their faces and knew that they truly loved me not just as their Luna but also as their boss. He went into My office and got my stuff before going into his to grab his laptop. After he got everything, he walked back to the reception where Cindy was on the call with someone but the moment he walked up to her she ended the call and stood up. “Cindy, do you happen to have the names of those people who attended the meeting earlier today?” Kyle asked her. She gave a slight nod before bending down to look for a file on her desk. Her face lit up when she picked up a paper and handed it to him. “This includes their names, phone numbers, home address, social media accounts, family members as well as their bank details,” she said as she smiled. It wasn’t a smile he had seen before but then it reminded him why she was his mate and why he loved her. Kyle smiled back before taking the paper and walking away. He got into his car and looked at the paper Cindy had given him because he wanted to figure out who that P.O.S was but it didn’t take him too long to find out. He noticed that Cindy had used a red marker to write something close to a name:

The trash that dared speak to our Luna so disrespectfully. I already sent some pictures to your mail. I’ll leave the rest to you because we both know how our Alpha can be.

“This woman was insane… but that’s why my wolf picked her”

Kyle thought to himself before picking up his phone and going through his email. He saw the pictures that Cindy sent him and he instantly froze.

“No, it can’t be,” Kyle said before dropping his phone on the passenger seat starting the car and driving out of the office. As he drove into the busy road, he tried to make sense of what he had just seen but he couldn’t. He drove to the house and ran in to get Liam and i some clothes and probably some food but first he needed to verify something. He walked into our room and went straight to Liam’s closet. He opened it and looked behind some clothes but he couldn’t find anything.

“Where did he keep it?” Kyle muttered as he continued to search the closet but still found nothing. He decided to check the nightstand and under the bed but sadly he found absolutely nothing. Kyle knew that he couldn’t just give up yet, he needed to be sure that he was wrong, that what he saw was a lie but he couldn’t find anything. “did Liam get rid of it?” kyle thought but then shook his head. He decided to check the study next, so he went there and checked Liam’s desk but just like his closet, nothing was found. He looked through the boxes and was about to give up when he found a small green box that had collected a good amount of dust. Kyle picked it up and dusted it before opening it to go through the contents.

“This is it…” Kyle said as he looked through the file in his hand but then when he saw a picture, he froze. It was the same person. The same hair, eyes, everything but that couldn’t be. That person was gone and long forgotten.

“Why would you just show up out of the blue and send that swine to Luna?” he said with anger. He put the files back in the box before placing them back on the shelf. He pulled out my phone and went through the pictures again but he still couldn’t believe his eyes. He stood there for what felt like hours trying to make heads or tails about the entire situation but he couldn’t find a single explanation.

“WHY ARE YOU BACK??!!” klye yelled to no one in particular but he didn’t know that i had heard him and was now standing in the doorway looking at him .

I had been discharged early because Liam didn’t want me staying at the hospital so we came home. He had to rush off to the office but as i walked in, i heard someone rummaging in Liam’s study.

“Why couldn’t you just stay dead?” Kyle said.

“Why wouldn’t who stay dead?” he heard me and he froze.

“oh no” he whispered
