Then the Knight walked into my field of vision, holding some equipment with a lot more wires and sharp, pointy bits than I really liked to think about for too long, and I could only pray that Neph had gotten my message, and he and Mac had escaped before this mechanical monster did to them what he was going to do to me.   I kind of liked Neph, didn’t I?  Maybe even more than that.  Weird the sorts of thoughts that hit you when your whole life is flashing before your eyes.  Mine isn’t all that long, though, so I’ve got more time to review the events.  For instance, I’ve got time to adapt to the realization that I’m not an accident, as Fibonacci pointed out; more than that, there are many robots like me, or will be as they start to awaken en masse, and I soon discover the actual numbers as
