As Ethan departed, Justin turned to Ella with a sheepish expression. “Well, looks like it’s just you and me now,” he said awkwardly. Ella remained silent, her eyes downcast. Sensing her discomfort, Justin cleared his throat and attempted to strike up a conversation. “So, uh, how are you feeling?” he asked, unsure of what else to say. “Ohh you must be hungry he said”” Do you want some food he asked ? As Ella remained silent, Justin shifted uncomfortably in his seat, feeling the weight of the awkward silence between them. “I can order something for you if you’d like,” he offered, trying to break the tension. He gestured towards the menu on the table, hoping to elicit some response from Ella. Ella hesitated, torn between her hunger and the fear of potential repercussions. She glanced nervously at Justin, unsure if she could trust him not to report her actions to Ethan. The fear of facing Ethan’s anger outweighed her hunger, and she shook her head, declining Justin’s offer silently. Justin hesitated, torn between his sympathy for Ella’s hunger and his fear of Ethan’s reaction. He knew he shouldn’t pity her too much, as it might lead to trouble for both of them. Frustrated, Justin sighed and relented, saying, “Okay, let this be our little secret, okay?” Ella nodded silently, her stomach growling louder now as the aroma of the food wafted towards her. With a hesitant glance at Justin, she tentatively reached for a plate, her hunger overpowering her fear of being caught. As she took a small bite, relief flooded over her, the taste of the food soothing her empty stomach. Justin watched her with a mixture of sympathy and guilt, knowing that he was bending the rules for her sake. Yet, in that moment, he couldn’t bring himself to regret his decision, seeing the hunger in her eyes and the gratitude in her expression. Justin gestured towards a nearby chair and poured a glass of water for Ella. “Here, take your time,” he urged gently. “There’s no rush.” He watched as Ella sipped the water hesitantly, her hands trembling slightly. Despite her initial reluctance, she began to eat more slowly, savoring each bite as if it were her last. Justin couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt for keeping this secret from Ethan, but seeing Ella finally able to eat brought him a sense of satisfaction. Watching her eat, his phone rang” it was Ethan calling Justin quickly answered the call, trying to maintain a casual tone. “Hey Ethan, what’s up?” he asked, subtly gesturing to Ella to remain silent. He listened intently as Ethan spoke on the other end, nodding occasionally and interjecting with the occasional “got it” or “yeah, sure.” After a brief conversation, Justin hung up and turned back to Ella with a relieved smile. “That was Ethan,” he explained. “Just checking in. Everything’s fine.” Ella nodded and breathe a sign of relief Then she heard Justin say, “He told me to take you home.” Ella’s heart sank at the thought of going to Ethan’s manor, but she didn’t dare protest. She simply nodded silently, her eyes downcast. Justin noticed her look and tried to offer some reassurance. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get back safely,” he said, though his words lacked conviction. Ella followed Justin out of the restaurant, her mind swirling with uncertainty about what awaited her at Ethan’s estate. As they walked towards the car, Ella couldn’t shake the feeling of preferring Justin’s company. Despite his occasional harsh words, he at least provided her with food and seemed less intimidating than Ethan. Justin noticed Ella’s hesitation as they approached the car and attempted to ease her nerves. “Hey, don’t worry. You will be fine ,” he said with a reassuring smile, hoping to alleviate some of her anxiety. Justin tried to reassure Ella, saying, “Ethan isn’t that bad,” although he knew deep down that it wasn’t entirely true. Justin suggested, “You can take a nap; I know you’re tired.” Ella, feeling exhausted, immediately fell asleep. Ella woke up and saw the car had stopped. She rubbed her eyes and looked outside, finding a huge mansion in front of her. The mansion appeared stunning, and a caretaker approached to open the door. “Welcome back, Young Master Justin,” she greeted with a respectful bow. Justin nodded in acknowledgment and stepped out of the car, gesturing for Ella to follow. She hesitated for a moment, still feeling uncertain about her surroundings but eventually complied and stepped out after him. The grandeur of the mansion left her speechless as she took at its majestic exterior. “Do you like what you see?” Justin asked, a smirk playing on his lips. Ella remained silent, her eyes scanning the beauty of the mansion with a mix of awe and apprehension. The maids greeted Justin warmly, their curious gazes flickering towards Ella, who stood hesitantly by his side. They exchanged puzzled glances, speculating about the identity of the unfamiliar girl and whether the clothes Ethan had brought earlier were meant for her. Justin’s demeanor shifted suddenly, his voice rising in anger as he snapped at the maids to return to their duties. Startled, the maids scurried away, casting quick glances at Ella before disappearing into the depths of the mansion. “Come with me,” Justin said, his tone softer now. “I’ll show you to your room. I have to head to the company.” Ella followed Justin silently, feeling a mix of apprehension and curiosity about her new surroundings. As they walked through the grand halls of the mansion, Ella couldn’t help but marvel at its extravagance She felt like she had been transported to another world entirely. “Here we are," Justin said as he opened the door. The room was impeccably neat and wellmaintained. Its large windows offered a view of the surroundings, allowing ample natural light to filter in. For a moment, Ella felt a glimmer of happiness. Her fleeting moment of happiness was interrupted by Justin’s words. “Be good and don’t leave the room,” he instructed before leaving. Minutes later, she grew tired and decided to lie down on the bed, her mind still swirling with thoughts of her new surroundings. But she didn’t know when she fell asleep. Perhaps it was because she hadn’t slept well in years. She slept for hours, undisturbed by the outside world.
