Immediately, Tessa angrily stood up in anger, with her eyes fixed on the castle gates. At this point, Ruby and her evil disciples, were charging towards them.
Even though the guards were trained by the best men in military, they were still not a physically fit enough, to challenge both Ruby, and her evil companions.
Jasper and Julian, continued fighting side by side, whilst their swords clashed with that of the guards'.
Ava and Lily, were able to use their quick thoughts and abilities, to overcome their enemies.
Since they were gifted the power of fast thinking, they were also able to make good use of it.
Immediately, A thought came into Sophia's head. She created an art, that confused the enemies. The art was an illusion, and it had a mad effect on their enemies.
Standing on the other corner, was Tessa. She stood in deep anger and annoyance, as she tried to figure out the next step forward.
"What do I do now? Phew!" She sighed.
Immediately, she felt a sudden surge of energy within her. As this sensation ran down her spine, she began to feel the emotions of the plants and trees, which were around her.
Surprisingly, it looked like the trees were cheering her on.
On the other hand, the birds sang melodious choruses, which were soothing and very calming.
Shockingly, Tessa discovered something new.
She was connected with nature.
Within her, it was as if she could read and understand what was happening. Immediately, she decided to use her newfound powers, to fight her battles.
With so much confidence, Tessa joined the battle.
This time around, she was able to use her gifts to communicate with both the animals and plants.
Without hesitation, they fought with so much vigor.
They fought with braveness and determination, as they were willing to reclaim the throne, and also bring peace to the kingdom.
"This is just the beginning." Tessa sighed.
Even though the battle was intense, it was still very obvious that none of them could overpower the other.
But, something mysterious happened.
Immediately Tessa appeared at the battlefield, the odds began to shift to their advantage.
She was able to use her gifts to communicate with the plants and animals, begging them to come to get aid, so that she would win the battle.
Immediately, Vines began to appear from the ground.
It started to trip and entangle the enemies legs, while prompting them to fall.
Out of nowhere, the ones angelic singing birds, also turned to war monsters.
They began to peck the eyes of the enemies.
The enemies began to lose momentum and stamina.
"This is our moment!" Ruby shouted, charging forward with her sword raised high, in anticipation of a fight.
Tessa followed her behind, as she made sure to use her gifts to guide the plants forward, as she fought alongside Ruby.
Immediately, the enemies lines broke. They were subdued in shame.
Ruby's companions, took advantage of the opportunity, and unleashed vengeance on the enemies.
Even though they were fighting side by side, Tessa could swear with her life, that she didn't trust Ruby.
The evil guard, just wasn't a match for Ruby and companions, talk more of the plants and animals that Tessa, had control, over.
Immediately the last enemy was destroyed, Ruby, turned to Tessa, with a broad smile on her face.
"Tessa, you out did yourself," Ruby said with a proud look in her eyes.
Tessa smiled, with pride.
She knew that more battles were going to come, and she needed to be ready for all.
"You deserve all the praise, Ruby. It wouldn't have been possible without you." Tessa said with a smile.
Ruby smiled at the instant, but she suddenly had a change of mood.
"Tessa, I want to tell you a secret." Ruby said, with a whisper.
Tessa's heart skipped, as she wondered what Ruby might have to say.
"I'm all ears. What could that be?" Tessa asked with a tensed voice.
Ruby, took a deep breath before beginning.
"The tyrant guard, isn't the only enemy that we would be facing," Ruby whispered, and Tessa froze in shock.
Her eyes widened in shock, as she tried to process what she had just heard.
"There is an evil force around us. It threatens to destroy the serenity of our kingdom, after destroying everyone of us."
Tessa's heart, began to raise in fear. Without wasting more time, she asked the question that was on everyone's mind.
"Who are they? What could they be?" Tessa asked, with a trembling voice.
However, Ruby's expression remained firm.
"I'll tell you at the right time," Ruby responded. "But for the meantime, let's just say that we have a very long road, ahead of us."
Tessa nodded in absolute confusion.
She knew that many challenges were going to come, and she was also ready to overcome all of them.
Yes!
For she was Tessa, the last lupine!
The one who had the gifts of communicating with plants and animals.
And as such, she would definitely stop at nothing, in protecting her Kingdom.
But as Ruby spoke, she left more confusion.
It was as if she was speaking in parables.
"What is this dark force? Who is behind this movement?" Tessa asked with a whisper.
However, Ruby's gaze, remained very firm.
"It is an ancestral evil that has been growing in power for millenniums," Ruby explained. "It is an evil, that desires to consume everything in its path."
Ava and Lily, looked at each other in panic.
"What is the name?" Ava asked.
Ruby took a short break, before responding.
"It is known as the Shadow," Ruby said. "It might also interest you to know that it is being awakened by the tyrant's black magic."
Tessa's heart skipped again.
"What does it want? Why does it even exist?" Tessa asked.
Immediately, Ruby's expression, changed again.
"Well, The Shadow, wants our kingdom. It was destroy our kingdom, and all its inhabitants."
Ruby said. "It also feeds on the vulnerabilities of others, which is mainly fear. It'd stop at nothing, in achieving its goal."
Suddenly, the group fell silent.
Everyone stood still in deep thoughts, as they tried to process what they needed to do.
One thing kept bothering Tessa.
She had the gut feeling that they were in danger, and they really needed to act very fast.
Even though they needed to stop the shadow, how were they going to do it?
How possible was it going to be?
Tessa looked at Ruby, with a question look.
However, Ruby had a determined look on her face.
"It is time that we gather more allies," Ruby said. "We'll need to work together, and use all our skills and powers, so that we can destroy this shadow."
Tessa nodded with determination in her eyes.
She knew that it was time to fight for her kingdom.
She was ready for whatever that was going to be thrown at her!
Indeed, she was ready for whatever.
Yes!
She was ready!
