Chpt II
THE FALLEN KINGDOM
"I can't believe it," I said, "I'm on the Island of Spirits."
"Indeed you are."
"Who said that?"
"Turn around."
When I did, there was an old man standing there.
"When did you get here?" I asked.
"Why, I live here. And who are you?" said the old man.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Jonathan Glastonbury, King Henry's sorcerer."
"What! Impossible."
"It's not impossible if you believe in magic."
"Now that is freaky."
"So how did you get here?" Jonathan asked.
So I had told him everything that had happened.
"You're not the only one that Lord Volkmann sent here," he said.
"How come you don't use your magic to get out of here?"
"Because I used it all."
"How could you possibly run out of magic?"
"You'll definitely run out when you're trying to keep yourself alive."
"Well, um... I guess that's true."
"I don't believe I got your name. What is it?" Jonathan asked.
"My name is Sir Samuel Weston IIXX, of Aldenmire," I replied.
"Hold up! You're name is Sir Samuel Weston IIXX, of Aldenmire?"
"Yes."
"I can't believe it."
"Why is that?"
"Because you, are the Chosen One."
"You mean to tell me that I was destined to get stranded?"
"I guess you could put it that way."
"You have got to be kidding me," I pouted.
"Well, anyway, come with me, I have to show you something."
So Jonathan brought me into the forest that was near to the beach. "This is the Forest of Spirits," Jonathan said.
At that, I heard voices coming from the forest.
"Where are those voices coming from?" I asked.
"Those are the spirits," said Jonathan.
As we were walking, I saw something that looked like a fortress. "What's that?" I asked.
"That, my friend, is the Fallen Kindom," said Jonathan.
"I've read about this place, I just never knew where it was located."
"Do you know who once ruled this kingdom?" Jonathan asked.
"No, I do not."
"This kingdom was once ruled by Sir Weston the First.
"You have to be kidding, right?"
"Not at all. Let's go inside."
When we got inside, Jonathan opened up a secret chamber that looked just like the one in Aldenmire. And while we were in there, I saw an empty doorway with a hole in the top.
"What's this?" I asked
"That is a portal."
"A portal to where?"
"Anywhere you want to go."
"How come it's not working?"
"Because it needs a crystal to open it."
"What kind of crystal?"
"The Legendary Crystal."
"What's the Legendary Crystal?"
"The only crystal that can open the portal, and only the Chosen One can possess it."
"But where is it?"
"Enough! Stop asking me questions! The Legendary Crystal is somewhere inside the Forest of Spirits, and only the Chosen One can find it, and the Chosen One is you. Better?"
"Eh, I'll take it. Now, let's go find that crystal."
"Wait! Before we go, you'll need this," said he, walking over to a closet. He then opened it and pulled out a sword, which had a hole right above the handle.
"Um, if you didn't notice, I've got a sword," I said, patting the sword that hung on my belt.
"But this isn't any old sword, this, is the Sword of Light, the only sword that can hold the Legendary Crystal," said Jonathan.
"Well, if you say so. Now, let's go get the Legendary Crystal!"
So we left the castle and went to look for the Legendary Crystal. And while we were searching, we found an old rugged road.
"Where does that lead to?" I questioned.
"No one knows," said Jonathan.
"How come no one has ever made it there?" I questioned again.
"So many questions!" Jonathan sighed. "Because that's Death Road."
"Has anyone come back from their journey?"
"I'm afraid not. But it was said that the Chosen One could make it to the end of the road and back."
"Well than, let's go!" said I. So we went down Death Road.
As we were walking along the road, something knocked Jonathan unconscious.
"What the...? Who did that!?" I yelled. Then a man walked out of the forest and onto the road.
"I did," said he, smiling.
"I'm gonna wipe that smile right off your face for that!" I said.
I threw my sword at him, but to my surprise, it went right through him!
"Wha... what happened?" Jonathan asked.
"Hey Jonathan, how can I beat this guy? My sword went right through him," I questioned.
"Hum. Why didn't it kill him?"
"Well, lemme think... um... BECAUSE HE'S A GHOST!!!"
"Oh, well in that case: RUN!!!"
We ran down the road until we lost sight of the spirit.
"Wait, I forgot to grab my sword after I threw it at the spirit," I said, looking back.
"You mean, this sword?"
"Wait... but... how did you...?"
"I have my ways."
