“Filthy thing?” I repeated quietly, gaining the attention of the entire hall, “you should be a bit more kind to someone who has served you perfectly for over twenty years. Shouldn’t you Vanya?”
“Served me?” She gasped, her eyes flashing, “she was merely a servant who hoped to impress me with her services whenever I visited the palace, I can’t accept the claim that she served me Luna.”
She looked at the head cook as if she was looking at a dead thing. “She was obviously trying to use me to improve her position in the palace. It wouldn’t be the first time someone has attempted it.”
I chuckled lightly, “she even went as far as calling me a placeholder for you, yet you won’t even allow her to touch the hem of your dress? Is the dress made of gold?”
